hmm i had done some research, further than i like however.. the rare sacred *hutia* they are closely related to "giant beavers than anything else. they are terrestial yet not aquatic or semi-aquatic like their cousins. that's why they mainly eat foliage based plant matter like infamous potus green vines and dry fruit. potus plants are found all over the united states cause "migrate birds and spiders" be dropping their seeds all over the place..

It’s actually called Desmarest's hutia. And in the wild they live in pairs. I know it may be impossible, but if you can find another one, then it would probably feel more comfortable. But it might also become more aggressive too. Cool animal
@stacyw13579 ай бұрын
The Desmarest's hutia is found only in Cuba, but is widespread throughout its range. They are found on the main island, Isla de la Juventud, the Sabana archipelago, the Doce Laqunas archipelago and many of the other islands and cays of the Cuban archipelago. An extinct subspecies, C. p. lewisi, formerly lived in the Cayman Islands before it was wiped out shortly after European colonization.[3] This subspecies may have been the subject of a report by Francis Drake when he visited the islands, in which he spoke of "little beast-like cats" and "coneys" throughout the area.[5] Behaviour and reproductionedit Desmarest's hutias normally live in pairs, but can be found individually or in small groups. They are diurnal and do not burrow, so during the night they rest in hollows in rocks or trees. They are omnivorous but eat mostly bark, leaves and fruit. Occasionally they will take small vertebrates such as lizards. Both males and females scent mark their territory with urine. They breed throughout the year with a gestation period of between 110 and 140 days (normally around 120 to 126 days), although peak breeding season is in June/July. They normally produce between one and three young, weighing an average of 230 g (8 oz). The young are precocial, with fur, fully open eyes and the ability to walk. They are weaned at around five months and reach sexual maturity at around ten months. In captivity they live for eight to eleven years.

Hey Blake I looked it up and it says it’s an omnivore and it mostly eats bark, leaves and fruit but occasionally it will eat lizards and they are the largest living species of Hutias and they are the closest living relatives of Nutria aka Coypu, Degus and American spiny rats and the hutias rest in Hollows, rocks and trees and both the males and females scent mark their territory and in captivity they can live for eight to eleven years.

The body length of the nutria is 45 centimeters, and the length of its tail is 30 cm. Its average weight is four kilograms. The duration of pregnancy is about 130 days, and in each pregnancy between four and eight girls are born. The nutria usually feeds on water plants and riparian plants. It originates from South America, and in addition to this continent It is also common in North America, Europe and was brought by man to Israel. In Israel the notary is an invasive species. Families of Nutria are found in Agmon Hula, in the Sea of Galilee, in Yarkon Park, in Nahal Ekron, in the fish ponds in Ma'agan Michael, Agmon Hefer and in the pool of Nahal Ein Zahav in the KKL-Junk grove in the Kiryat Shmona area. The notary's body is suitable for swimming. Her eyes, ears and nostrils are located on the top of her head, which protrudes from the water while she is in it. Her hind legs have swimming membranes. The front legs lack swimming membranes, but are used for walking, holding food and combing and cleaning the fur. Her tail resembles a rat's tail. The notary successfully adapts to diverse living areas thanks to its contentment with little. For its existence, it needs a small water mikvah and plant food that grows in the water or on the nearby bank. Most of its activity takes place at night. The female gives birth to her cubs when they are covered in fur and their eyes are open. At the end of two months of the mother's care, they become independent. Man makes a lot of use of the notary's beautiful fur, and it was brought by him to different places in the world and also to Israel. Many nutria escaped from captivity and reproduced in the wild in large quantities. A mistaken belief is that in Israel its breeding was stopped due to the poor development of the fur in the weather of the Land of Israel, but there is a letter to the members of Kibbutz Holta from a European fur company that indicates that the quality of the fur is of the highest quality, but since notary breeders for the fur began all over Europe, buying from Israel was uneconomical. The notary digs holes in the water bank that cause a lot of damage to the fish ponds. In the years when the population of carnivores in Israel was harmed due to poisoning, the population of nutria increased greatly and a great deal of damage was also caused to vegetable crops.

That's a Cuban hutia. They are native to Cuba, and here in Florida, some people raise them legally. Clearly, you don't know or seek the correct information. They don't eat grape leaves; they only eat fruits, and of course, they need water since they are from the Caribbean. So please, feed it what it needs. If you want, I can help you.

Love watching upur KZbin. Very interesting and fun. I wanted to see if you heard of the SHOEBILL STORK? I know you like large birds. Very few people have them. They are OK around people, but they eat animals. They are very unusual birds from Africa. If anyone could care for one, it would be you. A breeding program would be very helpful. 11:19 But ZooTampa is home to three of only four shoebill storks in the United States. These fascinating birds can reach 5 feet in height and are classified as critically endangered, with only 3,300 to 3,500 mature shoebills still living in the wild.Mar 30, 2021
