Rescuing The Cheapest FC3S RX7 Turbo II From Its Grave | Part 2

So things took a turn for the worst with the RX7, the fuel was the worst I had ever seen and the injectors were clogged to say the least. But with persistence and patience I fixed the problems the car threw at me. Now the injectors are clean and some most of the parts that were removed are much cleaner. I also met up with a fellow FC owner and bought a front and rear bumper and another hood that was in much better condition. Hopefully in the next episode I will be able to start the car up with no starting fluid. Cant wait to actually be able to drive this field find RX7 FC3S!!!!

The UK Dealer launch for this model RX-7 was in Rome at the Sheraton Hotel. 10 press cars were there for us to try. All the cars were parked overnight in the hotel's gated multistory car park with guards to watch over them. By the end of the week, all the cars had had their radio's stolen!

Double check and make sure that idle air control valve is still functioning properly if not it will lean out the engine and blow an apex seal you're better off deleting it as well the way to go around it get the car up to operating temperature and then you adjust your throttle cable to whatever idle you choose I have mine set to idles at 1000 RPM when it's at operating temperature but as it's warming up it will idle at 11 to 1200 RPM

Dave just a tip. Grab mkIII Supra injector o-ring kits at autozone. Same as fc just comes with 1 extra o ring you won’t use. $5 and you don’t have to wait for anything in the mail!

My guy. That is the worst fuel I have ever seen. I thought my 1985 MR2 was bad and even that was just dark yellow/orange/brown. Great progress. That intake manifold cleaned up so nice. Can't wait to see it run!

The mechanical oil injection system isn't much of an issue compared to the electronic ones found in later models but still needs premix if increasing power significantly.

Put the BAC back on. It's not an emissions component. Why wouldn't you want the ECU to be able to aide in idle control?

It can fail and cause it to go lean

How? Even if it fails open, it's post MAF and will draw metered air. The ECU would compensate for the extra air just as it would when it's operating normally.

The mechanical oil metering system is extremely reliable on a Mazda Rotary. You are committing yourself to an ongoing need to carry extra oil and mess about with it every time you put fuel in the car. I've been street driving a S5 engined first gen for 20 years and the OMP has never been an issue

My 87 N/A fc was catching fire under throttle body because of leaking fuel dampener. Most of vacuum lines are burned, i have othet one lines from yunkyard rx7 but don't know to connect it all together. Any help?
