Resealing the CAV Injection Pump on my Ford 420 Backhoe

Needed to do some much needed maintenance on my 1974 Ford 420 Backhoe. it started leaking diesel fuel into the crankcase (engine oil) as well as all over the outside of the pump. So I dug into a diesel injection pump for my first time, and it ran afterwards!

@@assemblyrequired1I might just replace the gasket on the top cover since that is where mine is leaking. Is it only held on by two bolts on the top? I’m thinking I could do that and not take the injection pump off my backhoe.

Yes, just the two bolts and then two springs inside. Take note of which hole in the levers that the springs attach! Only problem I could see with your plan is having to work around the loader, but that's a problem no matter what you do!
