I mean this works. But on a Gen 1 it seems you can no longer connect them to WiFi after resetting them.. Spent literal hourrs today trying to fix it, nothing worked unfortunately.

I just opened my Gen 1 - brand new--it was in a closet...well after trying all day and writing to amazon tech far away...nothing...seems just wrong....amazon said. oh warranty is from date of purchase and you are out of warranty.

that one guy hey so look down on your amazon Alexa it will probably show a Alexa base model and search it and it will probably say the name or something it worked for me

Tried all the things, but my 2018 Gen1 Echo refuses to give up spinning blue forever, thus impossible to reset. Like many others, I must say goodbye now.

Mine is dead, it wouldn't come back to life. The power supply is good at 15V. I guess I'll have to get a new one.

On the bottom of the echo on the opposite side of where the power cord enters, you will see a small hole, that you need to insert a paper clip to push the button.
