Reset Yale Assure SL Lock to Factory Settings

How to reset the Yale Assure electronic lock back to factory default settings. If you want to change your master pin resetting the Yale lock is your only option. Resetting is a good idea if you are having problems with your YRD256 series electronic lock and are troubleshooting.

We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzbin.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Just in case your Yale doesn’t has a reset button - it in the left side which shows “PLUS”! I just did it! Hope this helps you!

I'm trying to reinstall mine and when I try to sync with the app it says hold the button on the inside of the house til it turns blue. Then it just plays a chime and never does anything. Any ideas?

The machine makes a noise like the deadbolt is locked then the lights on the keypad forms an X. Checked the to see if the bolt is hitting anything its free and clear. What is the problem?

My lock does the exact same thing. I've reset to factory setting and reprogrammed new entry codes. Less than 24 hours later, the lock grind and again will not open. It's a very expensive piece of technical equipment to throw it out so I keep trying as I curse. Hopefully the lock will work again at some point after the third or fourth factory reset.

Your inside turn knob was in the wrong position meaning that the deadbolt didn't have anymore movement. Take the know off and turn it the other way then reinstall. Should work now.

You can power using a 9V battery. On the bottom side of the keypad there are two terminals for a 9V to power the lock. As long as you have the code it should work for you. Have a great day!

I'm a female. Why in the hell would you show how-to take the back off pad_ I need to know how to put in a new password. I have a neighbor who keeps breaking in. I've spent $5,000.00 on changing key locks in a year. I can't afford another Locksmith who keeps selling my keys to neighbor I ask this time for a keyless lock. The Locksmith sold my pin again to Neighbor. The Judge is waiting for picture of guy. He is too smart. Turns off cameras. I need to change new pin code please think of women when you do video's. Even how to change batteries in smoke alarms, and how to fix electrical plugs he dismantled. Sorry, I got a sick man next door who moved in next to me. I can't afford all these different contractors. Teach us women how to do repairs, thanks

He probably showed how to take the back off because it's the only way to do it and being a female does not make you incapable of doing exactly what he did. Literally just take the lock off. You have to do a factory reset and redo a master code. Also if your locksmith sells your keys to people then stop using him. Or call the police or something.
