@@dm8dd Most definitely! Claude also had the fantastic 'The Woodwork' (another personal CY comp favourite) from the same year. In fact, he was on fire in '96 with 5 different compilation tracks alone, and all of them were amazing!

Whilst other detroit artists like Jeff mills,UR,Atkins et all get all the plaudits this track by Claude young is easily one of the very best to come out of detroit. It's a timeless masterpiece.

This is a perfect example of why hardware samplers are superior to software samplers. The tone of the pad and bass synth samples when they are pitched down is something you cannot replicate with any software, not to mention the fullness of the tone. Even though it sounds like a 16-bit sampler, there is still some very lovely audible aliasing when the samples are pitched down. It's subtle, but immediately recognizable to those who were listening to this music in the 80's and 90's.

yaeh you have no idea what you're talking about. it's like when rich told me he's gonna play an entire set using mp3's to see if anyone would notice.Not only did they not notice they complimented on how great it sounded and that only vinyl could do that. So yeah with enough effort you can make any analog sound digitally. i could only imagine what u think rich has in his music studio.

I bought "Detroit - Beyond the third wave" when it came out. This is a beautiful track but the overall vinyl quality of the compilation was awful. Like so many pressings from the US the levels were really crap.
