In my opinion...80's B horror with all the cheesy(but strangely believable) dialogue and campiness that doesn't take itself too seriously is the only way these movies could work. PS: if this movie were done in the 90's or early 2000's then Jerry O'Connel would have been perfect for Leon.

I think the reason why this is so effective is because of the term "implied violence". This is a technique directors use all the time to let the audience's own mind to fill in the blanks. Very efficient and effective... I can't wait to see this implemented into a VR headset....what a trip that would be.
