ESRGAN is an AI Neural Network software that is capable of upscaling and reconstructing low-resolution images, while retaining most of their elements and details.
I took the original video files from the Biohazard 2 SOURCENEXT PC port, and used ESRGAN with the Manga109 training model to upscale the videos 4 times their original resolutions… The results are really beautiful.

I ALWAYS knew since I first played the game in 1998 that it was Leon's model. The face eyes and hair is an exact copy paste. I really wish they used literally any other model for this. It's so awkward seeing them right next to each other.

@@BloodyBrawler92 How can that work though? There are only 3 positions because its analogue input? If you aim up and shoot with the pistol you'd miss unless its at close range. But because its not a 1 hit kill you'll then take damage.

@@MrSapps Yeah I know that, I still play RE2 on the PlayStation 1. My comment is just referring to the ability to still aim towards the head region, regardless if you're at risk of sustaining damage. Through the perspective of over the shoulder it's much more practical, but in the 98 release, positioning of aiming is more awkward due to the camera angles and limited character movements. That said I don't mind the old tank controls, fixed camera etc. Even though the 2019 release of RE2 has greatly improved movements, I personally hated the remake.
