In my opinion it is the most calming theme from Resident Evil. Even the Save Room theme doesn't bring a really calming atmosphere. Sherry's theme may have a bit of melancholy and sadness in it, but it also feels conforting. It's like it is the embodiment of Claire hugging a crying Sherry when they first meet.

Yep, I perfectly understand the feeling. I'm of 1993, almost 30 now but those times were golden. PS1, school, Star Wars 1-3 movies with Lord of the rings, RE 4, RE 1,2 and 3, those were gold times. Be proud of it son, there will be nothing like this anymore ....

It was just like that in the game as well, I remember it well. RE2 used some clever system to make only later parts of a song go into endless loop. They did the same with "Leon with Claire".

OK, perhaps the technique is simple, but I thought it was a clever idea and good sound design as you didn't hear a break between the first part and the later loop. It was seamless and sounded just like one song. Hence the question by the OP, it wasn't very obvious.

New Resident Evil Save Room Music That was the problem for me about RE2. It had smaller melodies and their endless loops were still quite obvious on the repeating melodies and chords that sometimes made me go mentally insane, especially the save room theme lol, but other than that, they're all great in their own ways.
