This is beautiful. It just puts twisted mad science into sound. It feels so sleek and sterile. So unfeeling. So machined. Feels as icy cold as your running blood every second you're down in this demented dungeon of technology beneath Raccoon City.

I don't know why, but for some reason, whenever I hear this song and cross this level, the first Alien movie comes to my mind. It feels like I'm in that kind of spaceship, desolate, eerie, dark, claustrophobic, silente... I really can't explain why I get that feeling.

I found this lab to be even scarier than the one beneath the Spencer Mansion. This one was much larger, had more monsters, more moments that made you jump out of your skin and a higher probability of death before you faced that final boss. The soundtrack during the first Resident Evil was creepy, but also quite relaxing, but this was just plain spine-tingling, through and through.

the layers of this track are astounding. the deep chord progression being so prominent to remind you where you are; in a hole. its dim, cold and reeks of sweet rot of dead bodies and whatever unrecognizable odors produced by the creatures lurking around. this track really sounds like your brain trying to fill in the blanks of what your eyes cant process in the shadows. not many will make it out alive and the ones that do wont come back the same.

If I was to describe the different tones of all the main classic Resident Evil games, before RE4, I think it would be these words: *RE0 and RE1--* The traditional Gothic Horror style, with creepy mansions out in the middle of the dark foggy woods, rooms that look like they could have werewolves/vampires/ghosts inhabiting them, and secret underground laboratories, full of disturbing stories of crimes against humanity and tampering with nature, which practically scream "Frankenstein." *RE2--* What the other guy said, about it feeling more like a thriller about top secret government stuff, with also a little more emphasis on the sci-fi aspect of RE, making it feel like an "Alien" movie. *RE Nemesis--* A much more militaristic feel, with an added "Terminator"-like vibe, since you are running from a hulking slasher villain, through a series of explosive action scenes, in an urban environment. *RE(3): Code Veronica--* This installment feels like one of those movies that Tim Burton either created or influenced (such Coraline), with its combination of a creepy macabre aesthetic, an aristocratic elegance, and child-like fantasy imagery to make something very disturbingly surreal. As a side note, I prefer to give Code Veronica the title of RE3, since that one progresses the franchise's story in major ways, was planned to be marketed that way from the start, and tried more new things with the gameplay, while RE Nemesis feels more like an expansion pack to RE2 that copies the same gameplay just with a few improvements, a different set of locations in Raccoon City, and subtle changes in tone.

Of course, back then, with the limitations of early consoles technology, a well crafted soundtrack was vital for a game's overall atmosphere... That's also why in 90% of cases, and i'm possibly even conservative here, soundtracks from 90s and early 2000s videogames are much better, more iconic and unforgettable than today's ones...

Would I call this track beautiful? No I would call it what it is, Sick, Twisted, Demented even it's the source of all your greatest fears, your deepest darkest nightmares all brought to life and the most startling thing of all is the truth that it was all brought into being by mankind itself questioning more whether it could be done for better results and more monetary gain(at everyone else's expense) instead of asking whether they should try it at all to begin with. This theme works amazingly for one of the closing levels of the game and fully encapsulates what Umbrella truly is, A ruthless corporate giant that is pushing its pharmaceuticals by day and bringing pure horror to life by night

This is definitely something you would hear in a hospital. Because back in December of 2008, the day after Christmas, my stepfather was in the hospital recovering from a triple bypass surgery and around midnight once we found out everything was gonna be okay, my mom told me she was gonna spend the night. My grandmother and I left and I spent the night at her house. @@MultiDom20 I have my doubts, RE remake was a great game, but the soundtrack wasn't as good as the original. The best song in the entire RE remake was the save room theme. In RE2, the whole soundtrack is so memorizable that I can hear it and say, that's the song when you enter the police station! Or that's the song when you enter the library! And since the hallways are dark now (like where you meet the licker), the song from that hallway was removed, it goes a little bit like this, *tan* *tan* *tan* *tan* try to memorize it in your head with the actual piano. So yeah, the first two Resident Evils had the best soundtrack and are my favorite games of all time. They inspired me to make games like it in the future. Also, I can't wait for RE2 remake!

pisses me off that the remake does not include most of these OSTs, it felt like a walk in the park mostly, sure the graphics were good and the characters too, but it did NOT have the same feeling as the original OG one as this, playing this track and playing the OG one had a more grim and disturbing feeling that you weren't alone, something was lurking from the shadows and it made the atmosphere feel creepy to its core.
