After RE2R was released, I was heavily campaigning for RE3R. The original is one of my favorite titles of all time. But yes just like everyone else, it's a 7/10. The graphics are flat out amazing, Jill and Carlos were fantastic. But it could have been better, maybe a little longer, more scenarios, more puzzles, more exploration around Raccoon City and have more time running from Nemesis. The replay value is barely there. It was fun, I liked it. Overall it works as a modern interpretation and highlight of the OG story. But it falls short compared to RE2R. If M-Two is doing the rest of the remakes then I'd be a little worried unless they are taking notes. If they can add more content with updates then that would be great.

I think people are being too generous with giving it 7/10 tbh. I honestly think its more a 6 or a 5 out of 10. Too many mistakes and too short. Even if it were, as the original poster said, "a little longer", it would have still been too short. Waaay too short. This game is EMPTY.

I stayed away from the demo, just like Resident Evil 2 Remake demo. I felt like Capcom could've made Raccoon City a semi-open world with multiple streets and buildings you can enter. It would've been cool if there were side quests that you can complete with such a large city and map. It didn't feel much like a large city. What made Resident Evil 2 Remake so great is that the level and map design was superb that gave you an option to backtrack if you wanted.

At the end, I first wrote out that I felt Code Veronica needs a remake first before RE4, along with potentially Dino Crisis and the RE Outbreak games. Secondly, I tried to made it clear that I praised the RE2 Remake, for combining so many unique elements from the older and newer games, and consider it one of my favorites. But I felt it did not quite reach its full potential, because of how it cut content in certain areas like campaign-scenarios/enemies/music, and it was disappointing to hear that the RE3 Remake arguably cut even more content from its predecessor. Thirdly, I brought up the RE1 Remake as an example of how to do a remake perfectly and recommended that, if Capcom is going to do more remakes like RE4, they take notes from the fidelity and attention to detail of this first remake back in 2002. Finally, I flat-out stated that I would refuse to touch Resistance, specifically because of the microtransactions in it. I explained in some detail why those loot boxes and boosters are anti-consumer and give developers the incentive to purposefully make the progression grindy, then sell the solution to their contrived problems. Therefore, these microtransactions ruin the experience that a game like Resistance could have offered me.

Re 1 remake is more like a remaster tho, nothing new, just improved graphics and some extras, which is all fine and dandy but it’s not remaking anything
@markcobuzzi8264 жыл бұрын
@@XxnextrekXx2000 Are you talking about the 2002 version of RE1 originally released on the Gamecube, or are you talking about the 2015 version released for the more modern consoles (which incidentally was a remaster of the 2002 remake)? If you are talking about the 2002 version, it did a whole lot more than improve the graphics, sound, and controls. The voice-acting, cutscenes, enemy layouts, and puzzles were revamped from the ground up. As far as the extras go, they include the use of sub-weapons, the Crimson Head mechanics, a couple of new bosses and areas, an expanded Neptune segment, the entire backstory with George Trevor that also ties in with the lore of RE2/RE3, and new campaign modes. So that was pretty much a full-fledged remake in almost all the same ways as the RE2 Remake was. The only stylistic differences were that it kept the use of pre-rendered environments, plus the fixed-camera/tank-controls/auto-aiming which went with it, and still used door loading screens. Meanwhile, the RE2 Remake reimagined those particular aspects of the core gameplay, by incorporating additional elements from RE4-RE7.

just gonna copy-paste my review of the changes in this "remake". Its good game but meh remake. Bad Changes - Jill not going to RPD -Yeah, Carlos goes instead and we get to see the Pre-RE2 layout. But missed opportunity of having Jill going to the RPD for the last time. Also, pretty sure Nemesis was suppose to bust through that wall but they changed it to subvert our expectations. -Clock Tower section cut -I can't really comment, it's just a missing section, but I guess they replaced the Helicopter rescue point with "This train gets us out of the city" so the reason for going to the clock tower was removed from the plot. - Tentacle Nemesis cut - Don't mind the new 2nd phase nemesis but wish we could've had both. - Reducing the City section. - Was Hoping for a larger, open worldish thing. Uptown/Downtown from original was bigger, had more to do and could be tackled in varying orders. But I assume they made the progression more linear for a more consistent plot. RE3 (1999) was a bit canonically ambiguous because of how many events could happen in different playthroughs. -But yeah, The Train only requiring 1 thing instead of 3. Original had us doing the classic 4 item fetch quest that could be done in any order. With the side effect of having various different cutscenes as a result. - Adding on. The Original could be broken into 6 levles: Uptown, Downtown > Clocktower, Hospital > Park, Facility. Remake has feels like it has less levels overall. - I noticed that a lot of the streets were interconnected with each other but the blocked off by debris, cars, boxes and other stuff. - In some points of the game, passages would be unblocked, or become blocked due to scripting. This is very undermining to the player and exploration potential of raccoon city -An improvement I would offer is to unblock most blockages and allow exploration and for the city to be tackled in more varying orders. Hell, have the key items change locations based on difficulty or what order you visit places in. The current method is too linear. In RE3 (1999) you had to get multiple keys to progress (Gems and then Tram parts) and could do them in any order, with unique cutscenes occuring depending on how you tackle it. - Brad Vickers - What the fuck.... -They cut out the most iconic scene from the original. Indefensible. - Nemesis being more scripted. - He should've been an upgrade to Mr X but failed in that regard. - Even know he's a harder fight than Mr X, his presence is undermined by the linearness and the scripting of the new City segment. - As stated above in my opinions of the city section, if the streets for more open, having Nemesis patrol around would've been brilliant. Just like Mr.X patrolled the RPD. -Bin Bag Nemesis - State of your clothes mate. - Barry, where's Barry? - Well I'm sorry but he's probably.... - no... Good Changes - Carlos - He feels like a real person. Like someone who you'd want to come back in a sequal whereas 1999 Carlos became a "oh yeah... Carlos, wonder what he's doing." - The redesign, the writing and the acting for the new Carlos is great. - Tyrell - He went from a minor character with 4 lines of dialog to a fleshed out character that's likeable and gives personality to the UBCS. - Mikhail - I like him better in this. - Nicholai - Don't know what I prefer, 1999 or 2020, but the actor did a bang up job here. He had a good balance of being antagonistic and being cartoon villain. It's like a mix of Outbreak and ORC. - Hospital - I liked how this section was more than just a "here's the Carlos section", being able to revisit it as Jill before progressing and being rewarded for remember the locks and searching rooms a second time was nice. Shame RPD didn't get the same treatment. - The Music - The soundtrack is brilliant, good use of the original soundtrack being implemented and remixed into the new one, along with original tracks to boot. I fanboy'd when I heard the Metamorphosis theme during the final boss. - The cheesy Rail Cannon scene. - We're entering RE5 levels of bollocks here. Honestly, I enjoy the campyness of the series. Yes even the boulder punching. So seeing Jill carrying an oversized railgun with ease whilst telling Nemesis to "Take the fucking hint" is just gold to me. Like it more than "I'll give you S.T.A.R.S", Sorry. Changes I'm Apathetic about. - Gravedigger Cut - It was a crap boss in my opinion. - Kendo and Marvin - Their contribution to the game was fan service. And honestly, what we saw of them in the trailer is pretty much all we got. Wish there was more but Original didn't have them. So it exceeds expectation. Think the trailer was a bit cheeky though. - Park being Cut - It felt like busy work to me to be honest, a transitional area that had a go that way, locked, go back, key, fight, go back to lock, next area. Like we just did that in the clock tower. - I guess the use for the park as the transitional level between Clocktower and the Disposal Facility was pointless when they turned the facility into NEST2 and made the hospital the link and a longer level. - 1 fond memory of RE3 and the Park was how adaptive difficulty worked in that area. Sometimes you got worms and zombies. Others you'd get Hunters and Hunter Gammas - NEST2 - It's a good level. Though the entire time i was playing I was thinking "This would've been a great Scenario B area for RE2"

I still have not yet played the game myself, so my opinion is subject to change. But based on playing the demo and checking out some walkthroughs/reviews, I surmise that these would be my thoughts below... *Highlights* 1.) Excellent graphics, sounds, and voice-acting. 2.) The portrayals/chemistry of Jill, Carlos, Mikhail, and reimagined Tyrell. 3.) Added or expanded sub-plots like the one with Doctor Bard. 4.) Basic combat against enemies and the Nemesis battles. 5.) The three unchanged enemies, the zombies, zombie dogs, and Hunter Betas are very good direct updates of the original’s. 6.) Musical score. 7.) Store provides wider variety of optional perks and bonus weapons. *General Good Points* 1.) The portrayal of Nikolai, who is very well voice-acted and enjoyably malicious. Just find it odd that he is now working for Wesker like Ada, rather than simply being an Umbrella Monitor who also happens to not be above killing his fellow hit-men to get more bargaining power. 2.) Dodge system appears to be functional now, plus Carlos has his own unique action. 3.) Continuity nods between RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake, such as Kendo and Marvin. 4.) Retained the use of destructible objects. Instead of hoisted crates, steam valves, and lampposts, you now have electrical transformers as a more distinct secondary environmental weapon to red barrels, plus the breakable boxes from RE7. 5.) Variety of files. 6.) Some decent QTEs and organic action set-pieces. 7.) Available achievements and challenges. 8.) More difficulty modes. *Feel like neither upgrades nor downgrades compared to original, based on personal preferences* 1.) Do you want Brad to die in a more scary way by Nemesis, which has the novelty of having Nemesis specifically kill a S.T.A.R.S. member, or in a more tragic way by his own infectious bite from earlier, which also homages the zombie Brad in RE2? 2.) Do you prefer the redesigned Drain Deimos, more unique Hunter Gammas, Parasite Zombies, Lickers, and Pale Heads or do you prefer the classic Drain Deimos, Brainsuckers, Sliding Worms, Infected Crows, and Giant Spiders for regular enemies? 3.) Which sets of buildings in downtown Raccoon City do you prefer? 4.) Would you like a more expanded Raccoon Park or more expanded Raccoon Hospital to provide your passageway to the Umbrella factory? 5.) Do you prefer the classic Dead Factory or an expansive Umbrella facility that resembles a mixture of the Dead Factory in some sections and a NEST 2.0 in others? 6.) Some subtle differences in arsenal, such as Mine Thrower versus mine grenade ammo, the presence of frag/flash grenades, different guns with upgrades, etc. 7.) Do you want Carlos or Jill to visit the RPD? 8.) Should higher difficulties offer limited saves or less typewriters? 9.) Do you prefer the alternate enemy and key item placements being adaptive/randomized, or do you prefer them simply tied to additional difficulty modes? *More Minor Gripes and Nitpicks* 1.) Variety of alternate costumes is less than original. 2.) Lickers and redesigned Drain Deimos are a little underutilized in campaign. 3.) Reduced variety and depth to ammo crafting and Nemesis’ item drops. 4.) Apparently, you cannot immediately use green herbs and first aid sprays on ground, if inventory is full, or drop trivial items to be picked up later like in RE0. 5.) Maybe the crows could have at least been visible scenery decoration like RE2 Remake’s Large Roaches, seeing how the files still explicitly mention them and their sound-effects are added for ambiance in some areas. 6.) Unlockable figures have no animations like in RE2 Remake. *More Significant Flaws* 1.) So far, no singleplayer stand-in for Mercenaries. 2.) Entire clocktower interior gone without an obvious replacement. 3.) The opening battle scene is completely absent. A couple of offscreen story bits like the mercenaries evacuating at the clocktower and battle between U.S. soldiers and Tyrants are cut out. Plus, there are no alternate cutscenes in middle and the remake only allows one ending, arguably the weaker of the two. 4.) The Gravediggers and additional encounters with Nemesis in his humanoid form are cut in the second half, apparently in favor of giving Nemesis more beast forms, when just one at the end was enough. I felt even the original needed one more non-Nemesis boss creature, not one less, so the variety of bosses would be better. 5.) Reduced depth of exploration in general: Cannot backtrack to early Raccoon City areas like Dario Russo’s safehouse, much lower quantity of puzzles, fewer Nemesis encounters while free-roaming, and lack of branching paths you can open in environments.

Another way that could have an alternate ending is: By the time Jill get to the helipad, she finds Carlos unconscious and the vaccine sample destroyed during Carlos's struggle against Nicholai and the helicopter gone. Jill, after helping Carlos collect his senses, becomes discouraged knowing the only sample that could have saved the city destroyed and no helicopter to escape in time, gets a distress call on her walkie and becomes shocked after hearing it's a familiar voice. Realizing it's Barry on the other end, gets the coordinates through the walkie, heads there and gets them in time. As they're flying away from the city, she ask why he came back and how he knew she was still in the city. He explains that Brad, before becoming completely giving into the infection, got in contact with him and told him of his situation and begged him to come and find Jill. Hearing this, Jill looks back as the missile shoots past the helicopter, eradicating the city, thanks Brad one last time knowing she'll never be able to pay him back. With this in mind shedding a tear, knowing Brad made one more sacrifice, gives her even more motivation to take down Umbrella. Otherwise a 7.5 out 10, took too many elements out of the originals that made it good and shortened the hours of gameplay makes the game's full price value kind of criminal, but graphically 😘 beautiful. A little more time and effort should have put into it to give it full attention.

@@shadowpeople2645 Clock Tower is an emblematic place objectively speaking for those who played it in its time, you will not understand it if you did not play it or, failing that, you played the "Remake2 before the original one. It is the place where the train crashes and (depending on the choice) you appear in one place or in others and vary the items of position. Even though the place is small, it brings a different setting and setting than what had been presented, as well as an intermediate point of exploration and rest (lower the action to be a little more survival). It has 2 interesting puzzles of which one is emblematic for its execution and reference while the other is a little more difficult to decipher without mentioning its reference to a certain mythology. It is here where (and depending on the choice) you have 2 conversations with Carlos, one in which he gives you ammunition for the grenade launcher and the other in which he surrenders and Jill slaps him to make him reconsider (powerful spear). Nemesis will appear at the top of the tower that you can face by burning it or throwing it away to have more peace. After all, you have the scene of false hopes for Nemesis to destroy it and infect you with excellent combat. When you start with Carlos he takes care of you and will try to slave you by giving you an antidote and when he comes back a good scene appears in which nemesis you appear and try to tear you apart. I can go on and why it is an excellent part of the game that if Capcom's had used it they could expand it to be much more ..., but unfortunately we got a stupid and shameless cut like many more scenarios and enemies :/

@@extreme123dz Uh.....no. The Clock Tower in and of itself is pointless. It's purpose in the original was to signal the evac helicopter, so the Clock Tower had a place within the plot of the original. Because the story in the remake revolves around finding the vaccine at the hospital, the hospital becomes expanded and the Clock Tower, as a location, is redundant. Now, they could have found other ways to give you more to explore, but the story as it stands in the remake doesn't need the Clock Tower to be explorable. Personally, I'd rather have Jill fight through some subway tunnels (since they crashed before the destination) up into the city streets again, and here we could have her explore another street area similar to the Downtown section in order to get to the park area and Clock Tower, and even if everything else played out the same after that would have been ideal in my mind--we'd get more exploration, see more of Raccoon City, and it would break up that section of the game that feels like Jill is just running from boss fight to boss fight in-between Carlos bits. Maybe it would have disrupted the pacing as the game currently stands, but I could've used a little of slowing down there, personally. But the events you talk about that take place within the Clock Tower could be transposed to any location (given the proper story context) and they would still work because the Clock Tower itself isn't necessary for those events to take place.

@ "The point of these remakes is a soft reboot" What was a soft reboot in RE1 Remake? It was a 1:1 game with graphical and mechanical overall with new elements added in between the story but nonetheless a true update of the original game. Hence the term remake. Re2 sortve touches that, but RE3 REMAKE does not. If you want to reimagine it, call it. If you are remaking it , using that term in it's title, actually dedicate to it. Else just call it Resident Evil 3 with a specification of 2020.

I’m surprised you guys didn’t touch on how bad the ending cutscene was in the resident evil 3 remake. It was awful! In the original when the nuke went off, you could see the explosion from the street view with the zombies walking around in the streets and then getting wiped out by the blast, houses being obliterated, the legendary RPD building being wiped away, the blast spreading across all of raccoon city. In the remake it’s just like “boom” and it’s over. It was so lackluster in the remake!

Yeah, the remake's ending felt rushed, which is unfortunately the buzzword for this game. We know Jill's feelings towards Raccoon City, and I thought we would get more of a response out of her. I'm usually not the person that nitpicks at graphics, but the cinematic quality was poor when the nuke went off.

The Nemesis parts were either boss fights or scripted set piece moments. They cut too much to work on this waste of a dead by daylight multiplayer game. No Raccoon park, no Grill 13, no Raccoon Press, no St. Michael Clocktower, no Stagla Gas station exploration. No ending with Barry. No Freeze rounds. No grave digger. No 4 barrel Rocket launcher (really capcom?) The final Nemesis fight is just a giant pile of vomit stuck to a whole wall that is extra rng cheap on nightmare/inferno. The second to last encounter is in a damn gladiator arena. Yes what we have is fun. Yes, it's a reimagining. Yes the replay value is good. We got half the game, and it seems unlikely they're gonna DLC anything story related in. Should have reimagined a more finished game.

DLC #1 of 3: *Jill's Nightmares - "RPD" Jill is unconscious due to the subway crash and has a nightmare where she finds herself arriving at the RPD. Upon arrival, her nightmare starts with the brutal death of her RPD partner Brad at the hands of a mutated Nemesis (with ripped clothes and many tentacles) before entering the RPD. Jill has to find a way out of the RPD; dealing with Zombies and Lickers while Nemesis stalks her throughout the RPD. The segment ends with a boss fight with the new mutated Nemesis in order to leave the RPD. Jill defeats Nemesis with a magnum while saying the iconic line, "You want STARTS? I'll give you STARS!" Jill then wakes up to the crashed subway. DLC #2 of 3: *Jill's Nightmares - "Clock Tower" Jill falls unconscious due to the infection caused by Nemesis before walking into the Clock Tower. Jill Has a nightmare where she wakes up and the Nemesis is gone. She proceeds into the Clock Tower unknowing that nothing is real and this is a beginning of a new nightmare. Jill has to find her way out the back exit of the Clock Tower while dealing with puzzles, crows, zombies and giant spiders(reminding her of her time in the mansion). *Nemesis segment - Jill makes her way to the balcony at the top of the Clock Tower. Nemesis climbs the Clock Tower as Jill needs to shoot him enough times for him to fall down off of the Clock Tower before he reaches her at the top(if not, Nemesis will reach the top and insta-kill Jill by throwing her off the top, Game over) If Jill manages to shoot Nemesis down, she will proceed back down to the back of the Clock Tower exit. The segment ends with Jill leaving the back exit of the Clock Tower only to be faced with a boss battle with a giant spider reminiscent of the Tiger Spider(reminding her of her past experience). Jill is poisoned by the spider upon her defeating it, her nightmare ends with her falling into a deeper unconsciousness due to ( in her dreams -the spiders poison / in reality -The Nemesis poison). Carlos finds an unconscious Jill at the front of the Clock Tower and carries her to safety. DLC #3 of 3: *Jill's Nightmares - "The Park" Jill has another nightmare while unconscious in the hospital where Carlos took her. She dreams that she has woken up at a Park. She only remembers faded pieces (in and out of consciousness) of someone carrying her on their back, but is unsure of who it was, or how she ended up at a park. Jill is now unsure of what is a dream and what is reality. Jill needs to find her way out of the park while dealing with Zombies, Brain Suckers and Sliding Worms. There is also something big rumbling underneath The Parks ground, ever so often. Nemesis shows up for an underground chase. The segment ends with Jill escaping Nemesis but confronted with a boss battle with what was shaking the grown(The Grave Digger). Jill defeats the Grave Digger and wakes up in the hospital, but not really woke, she wakes up into another short nightmare segment (Hospital dream of Zombie Carlos). After the short segment is over, Jill truly wakes up. END of Jill's Nightmares DLC Future DLC: Marvin's Sacrifice Brad's Road to RPD Kendo's Last Stand Unlockable - Dario's Lost Capcom PLEASE USE THIS!!! You don't have to pay me ANYTHING!

Long comment but here I go: 1. Campaign was too short, I was able to beat the game in less than 3 hours on my first run. In the original, I spent +7 hours trying to beat the game. Not that the original game was extremely long tho, but due to the amount of places you could explore and things you had to do (aka completing puzzles, look for the train parts), it felt much longer 2. Nemesis Second Form: The design is not bad, but this should have been his third form if any. The original second form was much more terrifying. By the time Nemesis lost his clothes, he became much more aggressive and relentless. I was looking forward to see this form in the remake and I felt very dissapointed 3. Cut off content and areas: Clock tower, graveyard, factory, puzzles, gravedigger worm and spiders should have made their return here. Again, I was not expecting you guys would cut off so much from the game that made it so legendary 4. Story wise - Brad and Tyrell deaths, Jill on the RPD: Definitely don't see why Nemesis didn't kill Brad this time. Us hardcore fans were impressed as the whole story line was changed once brad was bitten by zombies instead of being killed by Nemesis. Tyrell should have also been killed by Nicholai like in the original. And Jill not passing though the RPD was also a slap in the face for us hardcore fans who have been debating for over 20 years who made it to the RPD first: Jill or Leon? 5. Nemesis was not as relentless and unexpected as you said it was gonna be. Mr X was much more of a stalker and it caused panic in the RE2 remake. Nemesis instead, was way too scripted. On my second run, I already knew where Nemesis was going to come from. This needs a lot of improvement. 6. Raccon City explorable area: Basically what we saw in the demo was the same explorable area on the final version. We all thought it was going to be huge yet we got very disappointed as we did not get the chance to explore much. We didn't want an open world map, we simply wanted a much bigger portion of the city to be explorable RE3 urgently needs an alternate / expanded story DLC And no, we are not throwing shade at Capcom guys. They are doing a fantastic job in terms of hearing what we want and trying to make it come to life, and we certainly understand the amount of hours and dedication they put onto their games. We just love the RE series and believe many things should stay loyal to the original. RE Resistance is a game nobody asked for. The time they invested in Resistance should have been invested in a much greater and passion dedicated version of RE3. Capcom should have remade RE Outbreak before thinking about developing a separate multiplayer game PD: I already added all this to the survey they made available for us earlier today :)

I think that the game should've shipped hardcore as the standard with more a aggressive enemies, which increase the length, just the readon they put the replayable modes behind hardcore indicates that you must play it, not to mention that Hardcore REmake 3 is more in lined with REmake 2 standard difficulty. I also think it's unfair to say that it ain't worth full price if you decide not to consider REsistance that's on you, that's at least another 30% of the package. It's like playing RE3 original and ignoring the Mercenary mode, that's another reason to play what the package has to offer making it worth it's price.

The one thing I notice nobody talking about is the draw distances on the hospital roof, the river where the clock tower was and the shot of the missile hitting city. The city doesn't feel that desolated. You don't get to see smoke singles going off in the distances when you do get that shot. That would tell us that there is either survivors signalling for help or a city block is burning. When the missile strikes, you don't get to see that shot of the zombies roaming in the streets in the hundreds just before it gets wiped out like in the original. I know this sounds like nitpicking but the lack of this detail makes me think the city isn't even in danger. Just my 2 cents here but overall I would give this game a 6. Very disappointing and I'm hoping capcom listens to the constructive feedback.

18:30 In RE3 original Nemesis was also scripted in the whole game, you cannot say "now he's scripted in the Remake, I know each step, exactly what to do", you described the original as much as the remake there. In the original it isn't "sometimes he shows up", he shows up at A if you went to B, therefore he doesn't show up at C and so on, it's not random. I mean, I get you guys, they could've done way better with good old Dr. dickhands, they should've gone more in the direction of Mr.X from REmake2. X also got predictable if you know how he works, but there always were some moments, especially on hardcore, when he exactly showed up at the wrong time and he gave it to ya. Hardcore should absolutely be the way to start, they could've cut assisted mode to be honest. I totally love Nightmare and Inferno and the changes in item placement gave it more replayability (personally, it got less interesting for me at 4 runs ~ 30 hours absolute playtime). Racoon City was great, the hospital was so awesome, holy shit, my favorite place with Carlos, despite this over the top zombie onslaught, that felt weird. I disliked the NEST 2 a little, it felt too much of the same from REmake2, I would've loved to see the dead factory with the frustrating water puzzle remade. Also the lickers in the hospital got me the first time on Nightmare and it was cool that zombie Brad followed you from the frontdoor to the depositroom, good choices were made here. Actors, 25 out of 10! Carlos killed it, absolutely killed his role in the game, fuck! I loved him so much, all of his reactions to the things in the RPD "Kick ass first day for Leon", "the weird fucking door", his reaction to the nasty licker "there you are dickface" or showerroom zombies "One at a time, take a number!", the acting performance was just so great, like Tony perfectly put it, MVP of REmake3, Carlos' role couldn't have been done better. To be honest, going back to the original will be harder from now on, because back then, his stupid fake macho attitude annoyed me already back then. I know I'm going to flinch every time he says "I know, you wanna ask me out. All the foxy ladies love my accent, it drives them crazy." It is just the one line I think, but it's trash compared to now. Is it just me or do more people think that Carlos' "classic hair" for REmake3 totally sucks ass. It makes him look so stupid, my god. I don't know if this is a development error, but the helicopter that crashes into the RPD in REmake2 is litterally the same one that Nemesis trashes on the parking lot roof, it has got the same number on the tail, MA008008 or something. From the standpoint of timeline alone it couldn't have been the same helicopter, let alone it crashing onto the roof next to Jill. Next remake job for Capcom has to be Dino Crisis. I hope they really don't touch RE4 already to remake it. It does not need this treatment, yet. Capcom, do not succumb to greed, please! The fanbase will let you know when it is time for REmake4, trust us on that and in at least 5 years (20 year anniversary shit and all) we will trust you to DO IT again. ;)
@sean-thiago19864 жыл бұрын
You forgot to say that you only get to know that pattern after replaying the game two or three times in a row. The original game did a fantastic job at hiding Nemesis' spawn points. Also, OG Nemesis wasn't scripted, at least not as much as this one is. Take for example, Nemesis could follow you through a whole area, until you spent half your ammo on him, with or without his rocket launcher, and the game made an effort to make him present at least once in every area you visited (12 encounters). One third of his encounters has him with the rocket launcher, and the game makes a handful of strategies to deal with him: dodge the rockets, shoot Nemesis to make him miss, cut the line of sight...Hell, you can even shoot the rockets in mid air. This game had him in linear set pieces for both his weapons. No matter how much ammo you threw at him, only the effing plot would tell him when to leave, not your own will and efforts.
@Mike033119924 жыл бұрын
@@sean-thiago1986 I agree. If he would've had as much encounters in the remake as well, it couldn't have been as big of a problem that it is. And fuck, i did not get a hit on a rocket in mid air, ever. Although trying a lot to make him miss one. It amazes me how the 3 OG still has something new I did not know. I think they should change the level design. Make jill Explore the clock tower with puzzles in it and then have the boss fight with tentacle nemesis. After she gets infected and the carlos hospital section , let jill go to the park to get the key to access the warehouse/Nest area and put the grave digger bossfight in there. That s how you Fix it and make it more faithful to the original

I filled out the survey and I seriously hope they consider bringing back Operation Mad Jackal or something similar or even some story dlc, add some stuff to RE2 to make it connect more to 3 environmental wise like the burning construction building in the distance from Kendo’s shop, maybe Atleast a corpse of Zombie Brad and maybe add some dialogue when observing it, I don’t know. I’m sure there is much they can do to add some side stories in RE3. I don’t feel like we will ever get an in depth look at how Ada escaped Raccoon City unless you want to see it in Umbrella Chronicles which was a garbage game. Maybe even Marvin so we get a little bigger glimpse of the downfall of RPD. Maybe even Tyrell or Nikolai 4th survivor kind of gauntlet.

I find it ironic that, as lackluster as The Umbrella Chronicles was regarding its portrayal of RE3’s events, it is still the only game to actually recreate the Gravedigger encounters. Meanwhile replaying RE2R I got to alot of points in the game where I had that. It’s okay I embrace all opinions that differ from mine.

Yes, I love RE2 but RE3 is better especially for characters and story

Agree with all, it had so many missed opportunities and looks like it got cut and rushed because Resistance, that's my impression, I liked it but feel so short that leave you wanting more, if it would last like RE2 remake it would have been perfect and I would love it even more than RE2R. Things I think it would have been great: - Jill going to the RPD escaping from Nemesis before meeting Carlos and the others, in this part they could add the other half of the RPD where Carlos can't enter in his part. Nemesis chasing you here like MR X with no scripting moments with Brad appearing here and getting some love by Nemy even if he appears in Carlos RPD part, that would have been perfect. - Streets sections for Carlos when he and Tyrell goes to the RPD, with this one we would have more streets to explore and they could add the restaurant and the press building here for example. - More streets sections for Jill between the train crash and the Nemy boss with the Park and the gravedigger worm here, because this part got so rushed, it needed something in between soo much. - Nemy boss battle in his second stage (tentacles) and not in that dog stage, because as you said you had two bosses that are almost the same. - Clock tower section playable for Carlos with some puzzles when he goes to search Jill, because you see him passing through the Clock tower, like wtf.. WHYY? - Extended Hospital underground playable section that looks like a factory for Jill before the lab. - Hospital underground/lab playable section for Carlos when he goes in there before Jill and the part when he helps her and goes after Nicholai at the end, here simply we don't know what the hell he did, that would help to explain it. - Mercenaries Mode as free DLC JEEZ. It's a 7.8/10 for me. PD: I'm with Tony, Carlos is MVP for me too 😋.

Re3 is my favorite RE i just feel like this remake wasted so much potential to explore their beautifully recreated atmospheric raccoon city I mean come on the re used litteraly 50% of assets from re2 animations,zombies,cars, police department, and sewers on top of cutting content. They should of done more I feel that it was 100% pushed out to make money fast.

Hey, 10 minutes more and this video would've been longer than the game! Okay, so as a game per se, I like it. It has good gameplay, great graphics, etc. I'd give it a 7/10 easily. But as a Remake, it falls flat. I think RE1 Remake is perfect bc it keeps all the places and elements of the original and expands upon it. R3make did nothing like it. This game should've been so much more... As a Remake, I give it a 3/10. The only improvements here are mainly technical stuff, things that HAD to be better since this game came out 21 years after the original.

I will never agree or understand that a game being short is a negative. I would much rather play a shorter game than a long, overbloated one. Too many games now are too long and far out stay their welcome. Games have to try really hard to maintain my interest past 5 or so hours.

JJ loved your review. As a die hard fan I'm curious to what you thought of the last Nemesis fight on Nightmare and Inferno?? LOL. Also, in a way final Nemesis is similar to the Grave Digger boss fight.

I hope for DLC they add a small story mode but us being Nickoli and see what all he does behind the scenes, perhaps he fights The Gravedigger? Idk... fully agree that it's 7/10
@markcobuzzi8264 жыл бұрын
Hypothetically, if Capcom releases free DLCs akin to both “Not A Hero” and “Ghost Survivors”, it could be an opportunity to counter some of the common criticisms. For instance, a DLC structured like the former, based possibly on Nikolai and the other U.B.C.S., could allow the RE3 Remake to showcase elements like the original’s opening action scene, the clocktower interior, the cut regular enemies, the Gravediggers, etc. Meanwhile, a DLC structured like the latter could provide a different singleplayer bonus mode to stand in for Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal.
@duskhermit33394 жыл бұрын
@@markcobuzzi826 My thoughts exactly, since it's a re-imagining, they could for sure make the DLC focus on other characters and add more to it all by adding the cut enemies with cut scenes such as the graveyard and perhaps have something go on in the clock tower even if it isn't a boss fight, it would still be a nice tip of the hat to it. As is, it feels like a arcade game to me.. I mean to all seeing this, Nightmare is the best mode, and will replay on that. Outside of that, it has much potential if they go about the DLC the right way to turn the tides.
@antiviruz424 жыл бұрын
The game was fun lets not forget it. Ya they cut a bunch of shit like the clock tower and for the life of me will never understand why the dropped the ILL GIVE YOU STARS line in game randomly and not at the end at least. Solid 7/10 title. Def could gave been a DLC. Even 29.99

It’s a 9/10 for me. I don’t mind the shorter campaign since I don’t feel like I’m repeating or experiencing the same content across 2 campaigns like RE2 remake. People didn’t seem to mind doing the same boss fights, and story beats in RE2 remake without the zapping system.
@cael_13034 жыл бұрын
Interestingly enough (and this didn't ultimately change my opinion on how fun the game was) that was my only criticism with the RE2 remake. I will say that in my opinion judging on scenarios alone considering that they didn't do the zapping system RE2 remake only seems longer because we get two different scenarios that are very much the same minus a few areas. RE3 naturally seems shorter to me at least because we only got one scenario. I'm having hopes (we didn't get it with RE2 so I don't know) that we do get dlc to fill in (there are a lot of questions they could answer) parts in the scenario like what Carlos does before he meets Jill, and also the race to save Jill. Also, I do wish that they kind of did have different paths even if we didn't get the "question" like in the OG but overall it didn't take away too much from how I enjoyed it.
@clinicaltermnerd42034 жыл бұрын
Cael 1382 100% agree with the DLC and missing parts. I wish the game was longer since 3 is my favorite but I’m happy with what I got. I didn’t want to see Jill in the RPD then play it again as Carlos in the same area. I loved RE2 remake, it’s amazing, but I still cringe when I have to do the duplicate boss fights, puzzles, etc in both campaigns because it takes me out the experience. “Wouldn’t the walkway have already been broke from Claire meeting sherry before Birkin?” Etc. So when you cut out the unique elements, RE2 is padding...really fun padding but it’s still filler and would equal to a comparable short campaign. 2 & 3 are different experiences and I’m just thankful Capcom remade them.

Yeah of course but ive played games for 5/6 hours beat the story and never touched again. It just depends really. Id rate it a 8 for me personally. Im really enjoying the game.

I don't know if anyone saw Avalanche's review of RE3, but he comes across as a shill and uses shit examples to counter argue critisms to this "remake". Its a huge shame because his RE Retrospective series is amazing.
@TheCyclicGamer4 жыл бұрын
I stopped watching his videos when he said fixed camera angles makes a survival horror game in his RE2 Remake review. No they don't, and I'm getting tired of RE fans treating them like they were some revolutionary medium of cinematography. They weren't, they were a product of their time.
@ROEnetwork4 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen his video yet but I can say that he would have no reason to shill. Capcom doesn't pay or promote fan content. At least from our experience and I believe it would be the same for him.
@Capta1nAsh4 жыл бұрын
Residence of Evil oh i don’t think for a second he’s getting paid off, but some of his defences are like... “really, that’s the example you go with?” He used the box choice (fall or climb up) in RE3 as a defence against choices not mattering for replay value. Even though there’s a lot of unique cutscenes that can occur by going to different locations in different orders and making different choices.

Very disappointed with this game. Completed 4 hours on hardcore and only saw nemesis before he turned into a beast a small amount of times. Don't know what they were thinking cutting so much content out. And the intro live action garbage was awful. I loved that oldschool CG last stand with the cops and the umbrella squads landing and getting over run. You dont see any of that its sooo disappointing.

I didn’t grow up a RE fan, never played them until RE5. The RE3 remake did seem a bit underwhelming considering what I do know about Resident Evil, but overall I did enjoy it. They need to “remake” or just put the RE engine on Code Veronica and not RE4 just yet.
@xpneuma4 жыл бұрын
I hope they don't remake Code Veronica now after seeing the RE3 remake as they will ruin the lengthy/playback appealing storyline it offers. Way too many great things in CV for them to cut short and ruin concepts of the bosses also.

Let's be real RE3 was a letdown for us hardcore original fans, I beat it in 1hr and 10 min w unlimited RL, this is 2020 on ps4 there should be NO EXCUSES from these game developers, it's only appealing for the new generation gamers who didn't grow up with the original, we didn't ask for resistance and even that is a mess it should have been focused on the full RE3 game but it was rushed and censored with a lot of missed opportunities. It's worth $35 w tax, no dlc content and half a game it is

I disagree about the replay value. The item store/shop lets you customize your next run in a pretty good amount of ways. I agree with pretty much everything else though. I wouldn’t have minded if it was just a little bit longer with some of the missing content from the original. I don’t mind the current length, but it should have been $40.

Yes, they should've followed Naughty Dog with Uncharted; Lost Legacy, which was $40 at launch, and that game is longer than Resident Evil 3 Remake. Don't get me wrong, TO ME, $60 was worth the price since I still had a lot of fun (also helps we're stuck at home due to the Coronavirus), and I'm still playing the game with multiple replays.

6/10. Only points it gets is for very few good moments good voice acting, graphics and sound and dodge mechanic. It looses a ton of points on length of the game, nemesis becoming a bitch (except last phase on inferno). The flow of the story is all over the place, we are constantly being thrown into weird semi player controlled moments for 5 sec just to turn into a cutscene and back into that 5 sec control. resistance is a cheat attempt to bring the RE3 to full price value and its broken too and going off the numbers theres only around 1k players when i checked in the morning lol. Also I like what ALI is saying ( oh also why the fuck Nicolai didnt kill Carlos but just 'knocked him out' as all game hes preaching Jill not to take any risks and just kills people all the time with no remorse? VERY out of character for Nicolai)
