Really is incredible how they managed to make it so nostalgic, yet heightening it so drastically. I especially love how they contrasted Jill and Nemesis using piano and electronic sound respectively (Jill being a pianist herself). Initially the piano is sparse, uncertain, and choked by the bombastic percussion of Nemesis's theme; the piano disappears entirely once she becomes infected; it returns upon her reawakening, taking on a more urgent tone as she searches for Carlos and the vaccine. Here, the electronic beat is shed as Nemesis metamorphoses into a colossal beast, sacrificing what remained of its imprinted programming, and takes on new life in its orchestral symphony as it makes duel with the now royally pissed off piano. I'm floored by how much more care was taken into the soundtrack than... well, most the rest of the game.

@@NickiBoi7 they claimed it was a “reimagination” which is what they did with re 2 remake, which was great and it still held up to the og. while re 3 remake was a total reimagination and it had a lot of major plot point removed. it was a linear set piece while the original was a game you had to go back into certain places to progress. the first 40 minutes of the game (minus cutscenes) is the only part you go back and forth. but with only a few destinations. i think they did great with character development. but jill seems less interested with what’s going on than in the original. the helicopter scene was pushed into the first 15 minutes instead of the last 3 hours. the original being about 4-7 hours long straight depending on IF you know what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. the amount of places they cut from the remake is a bit saddening. the trailer for the game made it seem like it was exactly like the original. but once you buy it, it doesn’t seem like it should be worth $60 dollars if you didn’t preorder or catch it on sale. the soundtrack is amazing, guns are amazing.. except the magnum. i wish they remodeled the smith and wesson from re 3 og and put it in. as for the dialogue and the amount of cutscenes versus gameplay. to me, the dialogue is fine, though jill is a little more complicated and rude versus her original counterpart. carlos lost his accent, but he is amazing character. i just wish instead of carlos going to the rpd it was jill.. just like in the original. there’s a lot more things i’d love to go over. but that’s for another day

Say what you will about this game, but there is one thing it absolutely nailed and it's the soundtrack
@Kleigen4 жыл бұрын
The original is better for its oppression, yes, but this one has another level of climatic moment and I like it. Both are good on their own way :)

The way I would describe the two versions is this... *Original:* Feels more desperate and apocalyptic, with its main music beats sounding like a church organ and the nuclear launch countdown being prominently displayed as you fight. Greater emphasis is put on your impending doom and the need to defeat your enemy quickly, so you can escape in time. Also, there is a whole secondary soundtrack, for when you are finally dealing the death blow to Nemesis. *Remade:* Feels much more militaristic and triumphant, as though to emphasize how the tables are turned and Jill just needs to make one final assault on Nemesis, before the menace tormenting her for whole game is slain at last. Also, there a unique segment of piano music interspersed throughout, which I find to be a welcomed addition. (Not to mention, both versions also have different introductions, before the main beats start)

This is game made appreciate Jill Valentine more than any other Resident Evil games. Badass and compassionate at the same time.

Damn I find this more epic than both Mr.X and Birkin’s theme put together.
@KingBurger524 жыл бұрын
I agree. Then again, RE2 had 2 major bosses that needed themes. Birkin needed more than 1 soundtrack and so did X. They only had to put together one amazing one against nemesis.

The best part of the remake is this theme

And the reason it is good is because it's the bit they changed the least.

Why are there people who just don't like remakes? Of course they are gonna deviate from the original. Thats what makes it a REmake

It's not a bad game it's just feels too short for full retail price. RE2 has about the same amount of content but by having 2 different scenarios that you can run through with 2 characters that have different weapons sets they turn just the RPD into like 20 hours worth of gameplay. It's also why I didn't like village, too much focus on spectacle and not on crafting a fun game that you can keep coming back to.
