Tricky to explain but it's all 4 endings in RE2 and there is a cutscene shown in Umbrella Chronicles. "Darkside Chronicles and Archives say Leon canonically met Marvin and Kendo. Happens only in Leon A. Degeneration shows that Claire fought G-Birkin's first form which happens only in Claire B. On top of that, the game's director Hideki Kamiya outright stated that all four are canon. Q3. "Leon A & Claire B" and "Claire A & Leon B." Which scenario combination could be considered the true one? A3. Both of them, of course. To digress, we really wanted to show off the merits of the zapping system, so we cut out elements of diversion from this game. We did this because by having 4 different zapping story scenarios, we felt that players would have to play through the branching story a number of times in order to see everything. Should players have time, it would be interesting to see where things differ among scenarios. It is never stated ANYWHERE that only Claire A/Leon B are canon. This is nothing but an assumption based on the fact that major events from those two happen to be canon too. But this was going to happen regardless because you can't have two of the same events occurring at the same time. They had to pick. But just because they chose those particular events doesn't mean the entire opposite scenarios were negated. Leon taking the pendant sample from Ada's body and throwing it away is stated in Wesker's Report but never actually shown in Leon B. That's because it's a borrowed and tweaked event from Leon A where he took the sample from Annette and threw it away, and the director already stated that certain things happened that weren't actually written or given scenes in the game. Q23. In the ending of Leon's A scenario, how did Sherry know him? A23. We never drew it in the scenario, but there must have been a conversation with Leon and Sherry since they didn't encounter each other until the freight train departed. In other words, Claire must have escaped from the laboratory along with Leon and told Sherry the story about this man."
