I would use Krauser knife for killing up close situations and use the primal for blocking, executing etc both good for different situations so I keep both in inventory

Yeah once you get the timing down on professional mode for when you need to parry the primal knife is an obvious must have because it'll never break allowing you to play through the game like in the og version of the game

Primal knife is bad only if you don't parry. You're supposed to parry, that's why it was ineffective during your testing. Plus, parrying a punch deals damage to regular enemies because you cut one of their arms off.

Fighting knife is not only the coolest looking and my favorite because it was Krauser's, also it is by far the most op knife, if you fully upgrade it with the exclusive upgrade, and combine it with the deer antler or tail it literally becomes so op you can get through the whole game with it even on professional

What I like about the Primal Knife is that although it is a bonus weapon like the handcannon or the Chicago Sweeper it does not feel overpowered even with the indestructibility. I just started a costum new game where all weapons are unlocked from the beginning and was able to fully upgrade the Primal Knife in Chapter 4 to save money for the the repairs and combo it with the bolt thrower to save ammo.

I rarely used knives exclusively to fight enemies. Only to block and do finishers. That makes the primal knife perfect for my play style.

I was gonna say, this is what seperates the knives from the original. You don’t really use the knives for combat (at least I don’t because I need durability to stealth some enemies that will either give me trouble or just waste ammo), you use them and you said, to block, parry and do finishers. At least to me, that’s the point of the knives in this game, the parry may actually be my favourite mechanic in the game, despite how particular the timing is on Professional (yeah me being not the best, I know)

To me, Combat knife 1st and primal second. Combat knife stagger mobs so fast, even if it doesn't dish out much damage, and its ESPECIALLY great for killing regeneradors without even needing the bioscope, or even a weapon, cause they're constantly getting staggered, the primal best use obviously comes from not breaking, so combat prompts use like finishing mobs that are going to spawn las plagas, or tanking the salvador/sisters attacks and anything that damages the knife a lot, but early game where i don't got it upgraded yet, i tend to use the kitchen/boot knife for these things instead. The fighting knife you get so late in the game by the time i already maxed both other knifes so It isn't even worth using it, and even after finishing the game on pro prolly 10+ times, i wouldve never knew it was so good if it wasn't for this video. But still since it's more of a NG+ item, i don't use it, for me the most fun you can have in the game is starting from a new game and doing some challenge, restricting some stuff etc.

Fighting knife imo rewards accuracy of your swing vs quantity to stagger w the combat knife. It's all a preference thing but I do agree w Ezra on fighting knife if we're talking ng+ and having discretionary income to upgrade anything since you're swimming in pesetas by that time

My opinion is that all 3 knives complements each other: primal for stabbing most of enemies, fighting for stabbing bosses and enemies that just don't die in 1 stab, and combat for regular combat

Since the other knives are only around for late game/newgame+ it just comes down to preference but I have to say I prefer the combat knife's speed. Im not surprised the primal knife's medicore in comparison. The value of it, is that its indestructible. It should be used as a backup tool at the most.

In VR mode doesn't matter which knife you can slice and dice enemies either 1 knife or 2 knives. Killing them determines how fast your arm wields.

My favourite knife is krauser's fighting knife because its both razor sharp and during mercheneries mode it has infinite durability.

Personally the primal knife is good for someone who likes to block a lot and not have to worry about durability and wasting posatas the primal knife in my opinion is the best knife on hardcore and professional mode if you master the parry mechanic cuz you could just block everything all day especially if your going for a hardcore.mode no damage run lol but otber than that the otber 2 knives in my opinion have better stats

NO, have to argue you their about the Combat knife. I like the Knife. but speed over damage, means the knife will break sooner before dealing the same damage, then the slower ones. That and bosses where you can use the knife special when the enemy in vulnerable.... speed does you nothing for Vulnerable strikes. Also Knifes breaks faster in Professional, because enemies have more health! Not saying Combat Knife is bad or anything. speed does excel if you want to do quick jabs at enemies like what you are doing. It works well with knife dueling with Krauser, for being able to hit him and parry quick. But when it comes to enemy take downs melee's, or boss vulnerability attacks, it is the worst. Primal Knife is awesome, because of the indestructible Perk. that and doing slightly higher damage, makes it slightly better for special melee attacks. Not having to worry about parrying breaking your dagger and can always use it, instead having to substitute with a kitchen knife, or other garbage one time use break knifes. Very handy, especially in Professional mode. Fighting Knife is best use for enemy take downs like melee take downs when strong enemy like striking Garrador in the back or bosses when they get vulnerable. those vulnerable attacks from a fully upgraded fighting knife does lethal damage. and that is needed more in Professional.

for damage the best is fighting knife, anything else the primal knife is better - 1.2 damage which is higher than the combat knife, which is more important than speed since knife prompts do the most damage, plus it's indestructible

Krauser knife is probably the worst. It takes 1 more space, durability is lower than base knife, and it doesn't even do more dmg than the base one because of the slow attack speed. Making it : breakable AND not the best dmg wise. If you want dmg : you don't take this one but the base one. If you want durability : same, base one have better durability. And there is one with no durability at all that's even better. And you probably have upgraded your base knife when you get the one from krauser ! Making it NO DIFF Primal >>> base >>> krauser

I just use all three knives. I use the primal knife for stealth kills and blocking chainsaw attacks, I use the combat knife to attack quick enemies, and finally, I use the fighting for direct combat and for doing critical hits on the weak points of bosses

Depends on playstyle. If it's just defensive utility, then primal is by far the best because it saves you so much money on the long run. For offensive play, Idk. Combat knife is higher dps while fighting knife is higher damage and idk if anyone's done the numbers on each enemy/boss to determine the better one.

Sorry in advance to anyone reading. this is a bit of a long comment 😅 The knifes are in a bit of a weird situation. For the most part of the game you're limited to just the combat knife. The fighting knife you get so late into the game it pretty much becomes a new game plus weapon to have fun with. And the primal knife is a bonus weapon. I think it all really comes down to how you have fun playing the game. For example i like to start new game pro playthroughs so i can try different weapons and see how well they do in a fresh playthrough. So for me new game plus isn't as enjoyable because i want to always start from scratch. I also don't like using bonus weapons for the same reasons. That goes for the skull shaker and sentinel nine. Any of the extra suitcases/charms and the added treasures in the map. So for me the only knife is the combat knife. The way i actually use the knife is only to parry attacks and stab stun/unaware enemies. I usually don't bother trying to kill anything with it unless they're low on hp and 1 or 2 hits will kill them. I usually don't upgrade the power on my combat knife and only upgrade durability so it lasts longer. I also always try and use any of the kitchen/boot knifes i pick up so i don't damage my combat knife and have to repair it. Because you don't really get much for selling them and if you're not using the bolt thrower there is nothing to craft with them. So to get the most value out of them is to simply use them so you don't waste as much gold repairing your combat knife

Yeah just destroy all the castellans in a playthrough. It doesn't matter if it is NG+.

But yea I’ve seen a few others posts claiming it does apply to melee and knife but idk. Cuz someone was saying you can stack the melee crit chance charm with the weapon crit chance and then your melee crit chance will be high. Idk I’m trying to find the truth on this so I can choose what handgun to upgrade next lol
