They really made the story of villagers quite tragic. Saddler exploited poor villagers and forced the parasite into them under guise of divine reward. We find notes and pictures of how the cultists slowly obliterated them and its quite sad. I know original had similar thing, but the story was so goofy I couldn't take any of it seriously lol.

Compared to the OG boss fight everything has been greatly improved and I mean everything. The intro, the monster design, the environment that they are fighting in, the dialogues, the powerful orchestral music makes that makes an already epic fight even more epic. Like all the other parts, the jet ski escape section looks awesome especially with the again music, destructions and explosions. And the ending credits... The moment I heard the OG's ending music beats I went back in time and I smiled. Sorry for writing to much or pointing to too much details. I played RE 4 when I was 13 and back then I only thought about gaming. Now I'm 29 and seeing this made me realize how old I am and what good days I had. Well done Capcom. This game is the GOTY for me

It goes to every other product as well. For example, I like and support company x and I bought a product from it. Also company y has made the same product but better. If I think the product from company y is better I will admit it and maybe even buy it and not the opposite which is to downgrade it. A lot of people if not most because of different reasons won't try or accept change which isn't good. RE 4 is a masterpiece but has it's problems and that's the point of the remake, to make a better game for old and new gamers to enjoy which they did it nearly perfectly. Still if someone doesn't like something it's fine but they can't attack others because they like what they hate

You can see Saddlers decent during his fight. At first he speaks clearly, giving his religious speech, but after he calls in the insects, he begins stuttering then saying his body shall become a God everlasting, after that he is completely absorbed into the plagas. He doesn't speak words anymore and is now left what little humanity he had behind and literally says that.

Not really. Saddler and Salazar both had the Dominant Strain Plaga(Mendez and Krauser too and Irving in RE5) On top of that, Salazar fused not only with his Verdugo but the Mother Plaga that resided in his castle. It is thought manipulation that Saddler controlled Salazar and Mendez, he had no control over them, nor was his Dominant Plaga more powerful. Saddler could only control the Lesser Plaga, an ability that the files state that Dominant Plaga can do so presumably, Salazar and Saddler can do it too even though we don't directly see them doing it. I guess Salazar does with the Verdugo. Hosts of the Dominant Plaga cannot control each other.

This was the thing I was hoping they'd improve on most. Last boss in the original RE4 was a joke. They actually made him tougher, gave him more attacks, attack patterns, etc. And even gave him a crazy second form altho this was mostly for spectacle than a real fight. But still, they made Saddler seem more like a credible threat both in his design and the boss fight itself. In the original the fight was so easy, you get the rocket launcher in like 2 minutes and blam its over.

I still have an original copy for the playstation 2 and I admit resident evil 4 is still one of my favorites. This game had major upgrades and I still recommend this game. This final boss fight against saddler is up there for sure and it's one of the best boss fights in the whole franchise. This remake looks cool and maybe I'll play it someday. @@superstarultra They did heavily change the motivations, the Original Saddler was a large ham power hungry cult leader (true to form for most). In this case it seems that Remake saddler is just another puppet of the parasites, having been turned into a proverbial mouth of the hive.
