This is an extended version of the altered version of the save room song that appeared in Resident Evil 4, a revolutionary action-horror game developed by Capcom.
The original is also sampled from
David Torn's "To Burble & Pine"

Thank you for Resident Evil 4, a game I have played through dozens of times. I remember the first time I played through it was the PS2 version. During the summer vacation after the college entrance examination, I did very poorly in the exam. One afternoon during the summer vacation when my future was uncertain, I played through this game for the first time. Although it was only on the normal difficulty level, I passed it after many failed attempts at driving a speedboat. I walked through the tunnel and saw the finale. Later, I walked out of the house and saw the sun that I had not seen for a long time. The sun that day was as dazzling as the sunshine after passing the customs. I am still deeply impressed.

Growing up with resident evil, I like listening to the music because it has such a peaceful context to me. Barely surviving the zombie attacks and running to the save room or seeing that blue light from the merchant gives calm to the anxiety. My gf heard me listening to the music and thought i was listening to funeral music lol.

September 30th, 1998.. The day i'll never forget. The cop inside me died that day, that night raccoon city was wiped out thanks to the Bio weapons created by Umbrella. Somehow i made it out but too many others weren't so lucky.. I was "asked" later to join a top secret goverment program, not that i had a choice. The training, punishing missions.. Nearly killed me, atleast it kept my mind off everything.. If i could just forget it, even for a second, the pain the stuffering.. This time it could be different, it has to.

This one feels like you're walking the same steps Leon was walking but like 100 years into the future. Humanity's almost gone and you explore the sites that are known as The Resident Evils. You can feel that someone was once here, trying to save the future but fail miserably. You can almost feel what they went through but you can't, since all those memories are now gone, but still remain as ashes in the sites you explore.

If a remake of this game ever does materialise and is as every bit as good as the original, I'd love for this song to be the save room theme. It just reminds me of a familiar time, like we've been here before, yet now it's darker, sadder, foreboding and more uncertain. It was so nice to hear the Merchant at the end, adds a much needed levity to such a dark and sad version of an already bitter and sweet soundtrack.

There is a remake for this game on the way. How much it matches the original game material is up to Capcom. I am sure it will be a good game either way. But Todays Capcom has some big boots to fill for a remake of Resident Evil 4

Timothy Pipkin I know there is, however anything can change and decide to scrap the entire project. Remember what happened to Silent Hills (PT)? I don't want that to be the fate of this game. I also sincerely hope that the remake is done in the fashion of RE2 Remake and make it as close to the source material as possible, even closer.

Capcom has a lot to live up to in this remake and to trying and replicate what is considered to be the greatest video game of all time. I trust Capcom to do a "good job" But whether that equates to being 100% faithful to the original is speculation at this point.
