Slave Owner Sleepin’ Thompson same and eventually I started using speedrun strays regularly. Village when you first play the game : Using up all your shotgun shells and handgun ammo, spend next 15 mins scavenging your resources back. Village after watching speedruns : Use two grenades. Ignore excess ammo.

Dewey Arvizu good question. These strats not only are great for speedrunning, they help you get through the game a lot easier. Like I remember when I first played it took me so long to get the cutscene where they all go into the church. I would always grab the shotgun and use up all my ammo. To think you can do it with 2 hand grenades in just a matter of seconds.. if I knew that back when I was little I’d be baffled. Also I know these aren’t ALL his strats but there’s really only a few tutorials on how to properly play this game.. which is fast

3:29:03 I'm currently replaying it on the switch on normal mode, And I also had the RL you get from the glass case, that I saved specifically for the 2 claw guys. I shot between the doors, a little closer to the armored one, and both died for me. Idk if I just got lucky, but I thought it was a 200 IQ move. I just wanted to say that it is 100% possible to kill both of them, I did it 2 days ago because I just got past this part. I'm currently still in that room if anyone's wondering, I work alot and I'm not always in a gaming mood sadly. Like I've mentioned in a previous comment tho, everytime I play, the game just flies by. I'm antisocial and don't really want the attention, but I'm heavily considering a speedrun.

My favorite game of all time, played when i was 9 and was absolutely terrified. I’ve bought the game on ps2 multiple times (I was scared as a kid and returned it), Xbox 360, Xbox one, and PC. I have so much respect for you for going over every little detail, you are amazing I can’t wait to try speed-running this game, it’ll be my first speed-run game I’ve ever tried .

Personally, I learned this game by playing it every single day after school. We didn't have a memory card for our gamecube, so I had to restart multiple times. I've probably beaten it 3 times when I was younger, and now I'm currently replaying it, and trying not to fly thru it. I just remember the game being so much longer and scarier, it's still the same game I fell in love with tho. I've literally been spending extra time exploring areas, just appreciating the scenery (especially in the castle) I even spent 3 days chicken egg farming in the village. I'm watching this speedrun tutorial to see if there's any other mechanics I can break and abuse. I'm saying all this because the game is already too short, and it makes me sad. I'm excited to unlock professional mode, because the base game is a little too easy for me as an adult. Everytime I actually focus, I just blast thru whole sections. I'm absolutely bragging, but it's moreso to highlight how my experience with this game has changed. Now I get enjoyment from it by taking my time with everything, because playing for real just isn't a challenge like it used to be. Maybe I should actually try speedrunning it 🤔 Edit: I have 24 hrs of playtime on the typewriter from how much time I've spent just walking back thru the map like I lived there. Low key wanna rebuild the entirety of re4 in minecraft 🤡

I speedrun this on the consoles mainly PS4 and I've done about 30/40 runs and for the first time encountered a freeze at Saddler, I feel like I could also adapt some these strats onto the console, great tutorial

I've played this game on GameCube more times than I can count! I just bought it on PC, strongly considering learning to run it. My PC complains, though, and often slows way down unless I lower the resolution way down ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love that you fit all the essentials into one setting like this. Special 1 is essential for QTE's. Special 2 is essential for Ashley since her knight armor makes her invulnerable. Normal is just meant for NG+. XD

It might be different on the Steam version, I have only played on the Wii but I believe unless you attach the stock you do not gain any aiming/stability benefits :)

Found way to skip cart ride on console. Jump in middle cart and wait till you get to a certain point after shooting the switch then slightly go back and jump out

Jesus Christ bro, Xbox One 60 FPS enemies are soooo aggressive. I’ve had moments in Separate Ways where I’ve reset a checkpoint after fucking up and literally had to immediately draw my gun to shoot down a scythe flying at my head upon spawning. Enemies feel so fast, so aggressive and persistent. It feels more intimidating when doing a casual run. But during speedruns it feels very frustrating. I’ve basically adopted 95% of these strats and incorporated them into my runs. However I execute them quite poorly and barely get Sub 2 Hours because I fuck up, have to recover, get hit, not the best aim so I do miss. But thanks to you I went from not even being able to get through the game to being able to get a Sub 2 hour Playthrough.
