My main gripe with the remake is that Ramon and Saddler barely got any screentime, compared to the original. Otherwise it is pretty great, I replayed it multiple times.

I honestly agree with that too. I know they still have Honnigan get disconnected from Leon. But I think it would’ve been cool for the Villians to contact Leon by invading comms to give that feeling of isolation

@@The_Landy_WandyI feel like Salazar and Saddler are still constant presences even with their limited screen time. Salazar is seen and/or heard in 4 of the 6 chapters that takes play in the castle being his usual annoying self. Saddler appears as early as chapter two and continues to telepathically talk to Leon, Ashley, and the enemies throughout the game. They there, if limited. Saddler especially given he physically shows himself near the end of chapter 14. Salazar on the intercoms and Saddler through telepathy is what they replaced the radio conversations with. The big change that came with this is that Leon doesn’t respond much to them. He does talk back to Salazar early on even though the latter wouldn’t be able to hear him, but still. Most of the banter Leon has with the bosses are now during the boss fights

I loved this game but damn my 2 biggest gripes are the bullshit off screen hits, and Ada.

Forgot to mention that remake Separate Ways also added so much more than the og Separate Ways. From returning/revamped content cut from the base game to entirely new locations and even a new monster, the remake Separate Ways is just a far meatier experience than the og which you needed to buy a new console and the game again for.

To be honest, I played through the re4 remake first and so far I do prefer it over the re4 original, Leon is more developed with his raccoon trauma, ashley is way more likable than in the past and her relationship with Leon genuinely made me want to ship them, Luis is better here than in the original in my opinion with his backstory and motive of wanting to correct his sins of raccoon city, and the gameplay felt better in my opinion, more smoother and less stiff and restrictive while in the remake it felt better to move around given what was at your disposal, some people might come at me for that but I think about it like this, its like batman arkham where Arkham Asylum revolutionized the combat while Arkham City and Arkham Knight improved it Also sorry to say this but I now love leon just like everyone else does because he is still gigachad best boy Kennedy but to be honest I prefer his remake version because they make him less of a simp for Ada and I know im gonna catch some heat for that, Ada is not a good woman for Leon because people always wanna talk about how men abuse women but in many cases like this Ada abuses Leon since he broke up with his GF right before RE2 which started his drinking problem and then during RE2 the very first woman he falls for manipulates his feelings for her to get a world ending virus and im very glad the remakes have Leon make it very clear to Ada and the audience that he still rightfully resents her for that and has more respect for himself because Leon is too good of a man for him to deserve this and surprisingly even Claire Redfield's own voice actor agrees, I personally think leon is better off with someone like Sherry or remake Ashley or the one woman he gets shipped with the most Claire Redfield, I say Ashley because I never liked how some people will infantalise grown women to make innocent men who are older than them look like pedos, unfortunately Leon still turns Ashley down like in the original but their story in the remake was beautiful since they show genuine growth and care about each other since Ashley chooses to do her best to help the one person thats been trying to save her despite being scared after getting to know Leon and how Leon tries so hard to save Ashley because she represents everything about his raccoon city trauma that he's trying desperately to prevent from happening to anyone ever again proving Ashley was more than just the mission to Leon but that's my opinion, good video btw, re4 remake was awesome

@@SpiderSora Even though I agree with you, I can’t say I ship Leon and Ashley. Even though Ashley still clearly has a crush on Leon. Leon gives off more of an older brother vide towards her than anything to me.

@@The_Landy_Wandy fair point, she's still better than Ada though in my opinion and I never liked how there's women that are totally fine going for older men but the second older men are interested in younger grown women then all of a sudden it's a problem and if a man likes a younger woman then there "must be something more to it", for example there women that will say something like "18 is the legal age but if the legal age was 16 or below you'd go for that too wouldn't you", it's like double standards much? It's all good though 😂👍

@@SpiderSora yah I say it’s even worse in the original when Ashley is supposed to be a 20 something year old woman but looks like she’s still 14 who “progressed” faster 😅

as an old player, i like the remakes but i feel like they made them so overly seriously, and i hate the movement in all remakes (except re1) it's fells wobbly and delay (and ashley was better on the original gameplay wise really that in remake she always following you and there no stay command)

Personally I feel like the darker tones are better so we can explore the characters more, but I wouldn’t say it’s they are that dark. The series still has its lighter and campy moments especially RE4R.
