RE5 was legit my first genuine nice experience with someone on PS3 online. Ended up with a random guy and we didn't speak to each other at all via mics, but we had such amazing teamwork and we both went through 90% of the campaign together on the highest difficulty with no deaths, but he had to leave by the tanker missions so during the prep screen, he thanked me, gave me a whole speech, and ended by telling me his PSN name and dipped. Sadly never got to play with him again, the classic "never came back online" thing, but I hope that dude knows me made 15 year old me happy that day.

Also I do have some experience with versus Mercenaries, which still to this day has its own dedicated community. Sadly most people just play Public Assembly as a map, and it's shockingly very technical, people in versus move FAST, and it's all about picking up ammo quick and saving timer crystals for when you wanna make a run for an opponent and kill them, so you dont lose time on getting points on BOWs. It's good you didn't find anyone, cause I guarantee you that you would've found some demigod who would've ended the match REAL quick. Still a blast, RE5 mercenaries is played more than RE6 one in fact(though that is probably because RE6 still leaves a sour taste in some peoples mouths)

@@luckyghost7777 same thing works with ammo. There's a cabinet before you reach Jill if I remember correctly with tons of assault ammo. Pick it up, restart checkpoint and again till you don't have anymore space.

The sheva AI is fine if you manage it right. Do not let her hold onto healing items or she will waste them. Do not give her a pistol or machine gun, she will waste ammo that will be better used by you. Give her a shotgun or rifle (preferably the first bolt action rifle), and upgrade the damage as much as possible. Sheva is basically like an aim bot so with the rifle upgraded she will be a beast. Not giving her other weapons to use means she will only use that and will drop enough ammo for it. The uroburos boss just use the flamethrower yourself and reveal the weak spots for sheva to shoot with the upgraded rifle. Its much easier to manage the flamethrower shooting and recharging yourself

Fun fact about the act 1 boss, the uroboros creature can be killed without the incinerator and if you do, you get a treasure item from it. That's just one of the ways this game incentivizes replays of chapters and using other weapons to take down bosses faster than in an initial run through; hell, one of my preferred methods of playing is dragging a friend through with an infinite rocket and saying "We don't negotiate with terrorists!" as a boss fight starts

RE5 was one of the best games I ever played. No joke. As someone who loved RE4 dearly enough to buy it on literally every platform it came out on, and beat it at least twice on said platforms, I did the same thing with RE5, as it to this day is one of the most fun games ever... if you have a coop partner. It still is very fun to mess around with, and it is so well polished that it has absolutely no performance issues. That said, I really REALLY hope it gets a remake. I would love to see how they can expand upon the coop... making the splitting up sections much longer, and even adding in more than just one puzzle this time around. Also, I'd love it if the game can capture the scariness/tension that the DLC of "Lost in Nightmares" was able to achieve. That was a surprisingly good way to show that you can still make a coop game scary.

As much as I say Resident evil is cheesy and as much as I've been saying Wesker never died for the last decade. I'd rather it be more ambiguous like a clump of his body comes "ashore" of the rockbed of the volcano and that's it. Not "opening eye" not "screaming/roaring". Just his body survives so maybe he regens, maybe his body is just used to develop something else

Thing about horror is, the more you deal with it, the more you get accustomed to it, that's what naturally happens to soldiers that become veterans, and that's what happened to RE, even Ethan grew a pair from 7 to 8, that's what happened to Leon in 4, what i didn't like about 4 Remake, it's that Leon doesn't feel to have made that jump that he made in the OG, he just feels broody and loomy, not professional, as an example look at Ellen Ripley, one incident and by the time of the second movie she became a badass.

I think that’s my favorite aspect of our new Leon, I feel like we’ll get a more seasoned and tired Leon by the time 6 rolls around, or at least by the next time we see him. He feels more scared ya know? His first day on the job he went through a lot just to be practically force to work for the government on top. IMO, I think RE5 should’ve ended with Chris AND Jill shooting Wesker because of the history, and Sheva’s spotlight would’ve been against Excella. Anyways RE5 Versus is a PVP Experience, Probably the best one, better than RE6, and the two that came out with RE3R and RE8. To sum up the game modes: Free For All/2v2s (Teams Alpha and Bravo) Slayers/Team Slayers: The Mercenaries Variation, Select from variations of Characters with the same loadout as their The Mercenaries counterpart, Defeat enemies and get the higher score of everyone/the enemy team. There’s a max of 150 Enemies just like Mercenaries, Kill the mini bosses in the respective map for a higher score than base enemies. Be warned, Enemy players can Kill you to add to their score and to interfere when killing said boss enemies as final blows are what counts and not damage done. Combos do matter as the higher your chain combo is, the higher your score will be even surpassing those who’ve killed the bosses. And yes, player kills count. Survivors/Team Survivors: The PVP Centred mode. Select from characters included in The Mercenaries Mode but with a limited inventory loadout. Spawn in with 5 minutes in the time bank with also a limited amount of Time Bonuses in the map compared to Slayers and The Mercenaries. In this gamemode,Killing Players is what counts to points. In each stage, There is a set spawn of weapons ranging from Shotguns, Snipers, Grenade Launchers (Only On Certain Maps), Hand Cannons, and Rocket Launchers. There are also only a set number of Mini Bosses that spawn in their respective maps and when defeated, will provide more weapons in the battlefield. Kill the enemy players/enemy team to score as much points as you can within the maximum time of 10 minutes. You gain score if you damage an enemy and even more if you finish them off, and even better as a parting gift, get a random weapon that the enemy had in their inventory, but Die and lose a bit of your score and a random weapon from your inventory excluding grenades and for Jill BSAA and Wesker STARS' starting Handguns. Whoever has the most points wins, although the player with the Lowest Score mid-game gets double points bonus from damaging and killing. Enemies (Majinis and Bosses) killed do not count for points in this game mode, nor there is a combo system. Don’t ask why I’m educated in this topic.

I like RE5 but it was such a missed opportunity to not have more uroboros infected wildlife as the more threatening enemies. Like instead of the big troll zombie from RE4. Why not a rampaging Elephant or in the tribe area they had infected Lions, Baboons or Hippos guarding the area. Also seeing mods of the game without the green filter makes the game visually much more visually appealing. These are small changes I hope happen when RE5 gets a remake.

If they are going to remake this game, I actually quite like the idea of it being an open-ish world. The game will have several segments similar to the Marshlands, where you have a part you have to keep returning to. The opening town square of RE5 will be kind of like a central hub, where there will be a merchant who you can buy/sell/trade from, and the different sides of the town square can branch off to different areas where you have different objectives. Once you complete all of the objectives in the area, insert main big boss somewhere within the town, and then you move on to next area with new central hub. repeat 2-3 more times, then final wesker encounter

I really enjoyed someone talking about RE5 positively, with constructive criticisms that for the most part I agree with. The only nitpick I have was saying that you’re supposed to hide from Wesker during the 2v2 battle. It’s significantly easier in my experience to hunt him down and blast magnum rounds and shotgun shells into his back, which will make him leave faster and make the whole AI Sheva v Jill a LOT easier. Cool bonus you get a really expensive treasure for doing so as well if I recall correctly.

@@quinceorchard Yea, I don't know why, but M&K operates differently from controller. When using a controller, you use a laser sight and can't reload outside of aiming. But with M&K it switches to a crosshair and you can reload while not aiming, but it's way more accurate and faster.

Resevil 5 is so much fun as a co-op. Resevil 6 is even more fun as a co-op. When i first played it and you could just beat up the zombies, Leon can flying DDT zombies and their heads explode hahaha. I cried laughing playing resevil 6, the combat is extremely indepth and creative, and you can level it up! Resevil 5 and 6 are good fun, but yeah theyre not really "resident evil" games. Im very happy with Resevil 2 remake.

Love your ideas for Re5 remake. I would want the same, big open Area for you to help save scattered BSAA soldiers in a hub area before them all getting killed before a big boss battle and continue progress further in the game, similar to traveling through the police station in RE2 on a bigger scale, like what should have happened with RE3. plus changing the enemies. Add more Infected animals as stronger enemies and if you’re gonna have the tribal zombies make them more realistic and not stereotypical. Keep Co Op but put in extra effort into the AI so it can save itself from death and not walk into enemies. Also change the design for the uroboros virus and give Wesker a better final boss design. Something the makes him look like a tyrant. uroboros essentially give him the strength and power of a tyrant in a human body but by over dosing on it, it reverts him to the flaws that the tyrant suffer from. It be kinda poetic for him to become a mutated version of a Tyrant than a mutated parasite, tentacle, blade monster. 🤷‍♂️

Finding all these 'Resident evil 5 was always great' bandwagon videos are annoying in the respect they weren't here when the rest of us was against the masses saying how great this game has always been, and people now jumping in and actually realising how fantastic it really is, invokes feelings of both happy for them and also pissed their only doing it because it's bringing in the views recently. If the former, enjoy, it's really one of the best co op action horror games available, if there even is any competition anyway, and it's the most fun I've ever had playing a resident evil game. Tense, exciting and totally playable start to finish with a friend on high difficulties, this game is masterpiece. And I don't care what anyone else has to say about that it really is. A game has to be above all.. Fun, and by God is this the most fun resi game by far.

For the cheating licker fight, you should cheat back. Use freeze rounds, they wreck lickers. For the first Wesker fight, you can stick with Sheva/incapacitate Jill. Then sneak up on Wesker and fire magnum rounds and do the punch combo for tons of damage. You can end this fight pretty fast. I agree AI can be pretty bad at times, but most sections can be manageable or have ways to beat them easily. Also, I don't think RE5 is played that straight when you have Irving, Wesker, and Excella being pretty hammy. And some silliness in Desperate Escape DLC.

RE5 can't be RE5 without the Africa setting. Thats like removing the Spain setting of RE4. It's what makes the RE game the game it is. Not to mention it has such diverse cast of characters without even trying to have diversity. Sheva isn't Black and a woman for diversity quota, Sheva is a character in RE5 set in the Africa setting with a backstory, goals, and personalty. Same could be said to Josh. RE5 fits the DEI quota the media desperately pushes but the woke and leftists view killing black people = racism. Really hope Capcom doesn't bend the knee and does this game like they with the original game, ignore the controversy and tell a story.

RE5 is still, after all these years, a very fun game to play with a friend. Is it a GREAT game? No, but I do think it is a great co-op game. As for a possible remake, I really don't think it is needed (there are other titles that might deserve a remake, or hell just make new games) however I'm a big fan of RE2R and RE4R so I'd be confident in an RE5R. If that happens, I'd be excited to see more of Sheva.

But also I believe there was an also a game break glitch with the second one, where it would not die and soft lock you in that battle until you died or restarted the game. I'd love for the remake to open with lost in nightmares, preferably playable but I'd settle for an opening cutscene because it's a little off putting that you get a glimpse of a tombstone for Jill, I think she deserves better than oh she's dead btw. Being playable serves as the tutorial which would work better imo and we also get to know Chris's state of mind going into the main game. They should not change the setting, but they should change all the RE4 elements, rework the opening fight, get rid of the chainsaw man(the executioner works better imo), no African el gigante and just in general rework the structure of the game because it can feel like an RE4 clone especially how the flow of the story goes. I do agree there should be an open world esque element like RE4R, where you can circle back and not just on to the next destination. I'd also take out dogs and replace them with hyenas, lean into the African setting more. The villains, every single one of them excluding Wesker needs an upgrade. It's literally chase after each one until you get to Wesker, make Irving be a threat not physically but he has the resources to send enemies to stop you, let him be one step ahead of you at all times until the confrontation. Excella is smart so bring puzzles back into the mix, she has traps that are just a pain in the ass and requires great teamwork. I'd like for them to introduce another antagonist, a warrior type, let them be over the tombs after Irving and no tricks with this person just straight up looking for worthy opponents, with only Wesker being able to best him. Uroboros is not intimidating in the slightest to me, it's more annoying than anything, I don't mind the mutation when it rejects the host but we never see a perfected version. Turn that second fight and final Wesker fight into a successful version so we can see the threat and as you damage the host then they turn into the rejected form. I'd even make that warrior character be the one instead of some random. Jill, my biggest gripe with her is that we know it's you, so I say f it and just reveal it early, screw the random picture and just have it happen during Irving's portion and that's why Chris is motivated to save his partner and if she's alive that means... cut to Wesker. Now I've got two feelings on this on one hand I think it would be better for the character of Jill to switch out with Sheva once you free her. She deserves to be with Chris in the takedown of Wesker but it's kind of like yeah I know we spent majority of this game together but I've got my old partner back sooooo. You know it feels shitty but I believe you have Josh show up before they leave, Jill knows how to beat Wesker so they go get the injection. Sheva and Josh are delegated into finding transportation so it doesn't feel so random and thats the new desperate escape dlc. That's my pitch for the remake, 5 is a fun game with a friend but its identity is too similar to 4, let it be great all around.

24:00 ?????? I'm sorry, but the reality is that you just aren't really good at this game. Wesker has a very simple mechanic, notice how Chris and Sheva are invulnerable while performing a melee move but any other time they can take damage? Wesker is the opposite, he will dodge near any attack when he is standing or walking, but when he is doing a melee attack he can take damage, like you have to attack while he is in the middle of thw animation, even a knife works... and then you can do a sick combo on him if you hurt him bad enough You've missed out on a good bit of fun for not uh... I guess for not being good at the game 😂 you should have looked it up or at least try experimenting

Actually you can shoot the noodle monster to death, this was my first RE i played and it was split with my brother. We ended up beating the game and did another playthrough and i had the Hawk and decided to just keep shooting it & lo and behold it died and my brother got pissed at me I didn't do it correctly.

Making RE into an open world is still one of the worst ideas I’ve heard people throw out there for the franchise and idk why it keeps happening but for a remake with 5 I think expanding on things and adding new stuff would be amazing as long as we don’t make it open world

Ships as set pieces?? 🤔 1,2,3,4,6,7 didn’t have any ships I can think of. I didn’t play 8 but from what I recall it all happened in a castle or something. I think revelations is the only RE set piece aside from 5. Now other capcom series??? Got me there

As much as i love RE4, I hated the direction the series went after its success. T virus RE will always be the de facto RE to me. T virus > las plagas.

Yeah 100% the ending is not narratively satisfying for a rivalry over 3 games like come on there's way more of that dynamic should've been explored. Should've had him kidnap Chris midway through or something and then Chris fighting between trying to protect Jill and then protect Sheva and do the right thing. I do however enjoy the look and music of this game immensely and think it was on track to be better than RE4 but it lost its way a bit (I still enjoy it more but I can acknowledge 4 has more all round)
