Are we going to ignore the fact that Ethan was clearly infected? Remember when he got stabbed in the hand and all over his body, arm chopped off and sewn back on, and was perfectly fine? That's the regeneration part of the virus/fungus. He was seeing/hearing Eveline which is what happens during stage 2(ithink) of infection. Here's my theory. The "Redfield" at the end of the game is a clone of Chris, and they are taking Ethan and Mia to a revived Umbrella's laboratory to use their blood and turn it into a bioweapon.

And i think Ethan really was the "deceased" Umbrella scientist mentioned in RE5, which would explain his ability to make med kits/ammo/pstchostimulants etc, weapon proficiency, and his attitude about the whole RE7 situation. He faked his own death and tried to get away from umbrella and bow work. Thats why hes mad that Mia lied to him about taking a BOW job. He also knew he was infected thats why he took both syringes from Zoe. He's clearly calm about it all, the only time he seemed scared was when he was going through the crawlspace and bugs jumped on him. Ethan didnt see that the copter was umbrella and being told Redfield is saving you gives him a false sense of security. Him and Mia will be used as test subjects, or be forced to work for umbrella again possibly. Theres going to be an RE8 and alot of secrets are going to be unveiled

For example hand cut of = staples, bug bites = bumps on hand and arms, Fat Fucks vomit = burns, and blocking melee attacks = slashes across your hands. I find it cool how if you get slashed on the hand and than poor medicine on the hand the blood gets washed off but if you look closely you can see where the skin was cut.

Zoe on the other hand is a victim of Mia's actions and once you give her the antidote you just let her off to do whatever, you don't need her around but you know you saved a soul or whatever.

I just wonder why the Zoe ending couldn't have ended the same way as the Mia ending. Why in the world would anyone even consider choosing Zoe? I mean, I know that she helped Ethan escape and all, but Mia is his wife for crying out loud. She’s why this game even takes place because she’s the whole reason he even went there, and he has gone through the nine circles of hell to save her. He even got his damn hand sawed off to save her. So choosing Zoe just defeats the purpose of all his sacrifices. Put aside the fact that saving Mia is the happy ending. I know we don’t find out about Eveline until after making that choice, but I can’t imagine anyone choosing Zoe and not regretting it tremendously after beating the game. To me, choosing Zoe is simply a piss poor option. When I played it, not only did I choose Mia, I didn’t even look Zoe’s way. But to each their own I guess 🤷‍♂️
