I noticed you guys missed out on the really creepy scene of Mia walking up the stairs exorcist style because of the brightness settings. The game by default is too dark. I'd recommend adjusting it a little but that's just me.

When you tried looking in the box by looking down after you were talking about the whole immersion thing, try looking in the box like you would in real life. You can actually 'walk' and move your body quite a bit before the camera can't detect the headset anymore. It adds a whole new layer of 'being there' just like the verticality and looking all around you. You truly feel part of a three dimensional environment.

The answer is simple this is not Resident Evil never was long time ago, the True Resident Evil is the Classic Series, this game is just another Outlast/Silent Hill clone with Texas Chainsaw Massacre story, Its just another game what capcom have slapped the resident evil name onto for sales.

It's different than classic RE, but it has to be. Your criticisms could easily apply to RE4, after all this is not the first time the franchise has reinvented itself. Speaking of, this is probably the first time a RE game could actually be called a horror game since RE4. 5 and 6 were really just action games with monsters.

I just got a PSVR a few days ago, and I just made it to the lower level with the Molded. I know everything about the game, but VR just makes it frightening in ways you don't realize. Props to you, Matt, for going into this game blind with PSVR. The lower levels freak me out. Everything seems about 10% too small to me, though. But my senses are adapting.

You're right - VR ups the scare factor significantly. It was definitely the scariest experience I've ever had playing a game, but also one of the best!

I just got past the mutant Jack fight and am playing as Mia now. I much prefer VR for the gun control. Aiming with my head allows me to be a lot more precise, and the view is less constraining because I can quickly look anywhere. I got a little spooked on my second trip through the basement when all the lights were off and the second wave of Moldeds came after me, but otherwise, I think I'm over the fright aspect. Of course, mostly knowing what's coming next takes away a lot of that. I'll have to go into the next horror VR blind to get the full effect - if I can handle it. Riding in the boat with Mia and being able to look behind me and down at the water was cool.

I'm almost to the end. I was in the wide open space in the bridge of the ship in the swamp, and one of those fast crawlers suddenly came at me from behind the upper console. Freaked me out because I didn't have enough space in front of me to keep it at distance by the time I realized it was there. Sometimes, a wide open space is more frightening than a tight hallway.

The Resident Evil Revelations games were quite good. 5&6 were fun in co-op. If you guys do another RE game I'll recommend either RE Remastered and Revelations for single player or 5, 6 or Revelations 2 for co-op.

Probably someone said it already, but you should know that you can disable the headbob, should help with the nausea. Also, mess around with the graphic and display settings before playing until you get it right like you want, it can improve the game a lot. And... probably this isn't the best game to to play in VR because it's not exactly a game that forgives you for moving slow or hesitantly...

Woah, VR mode isn't kind to the cut scenes. It really breaks some of the immersion when you can't see her coming at you like you can normally. I suppose VR makes up for some things but it's sad you can't have everything.

Funny thing about Mia, I have played the Kitchen demo prior to this, so ever since the first time I saw her in her lockup I instantly recognize the hair and clothes and I was like "holy s*** it's the crazy b**** from the demo!" and so I was being cautious the entire time she's with me, trying to anticipate if she ever go full bananas when I least expect it, but nonetheless that sequence esp. where she crawls up the staircase still got me lmao

Resident Evil 7 looks pretty incredible so far. I'm really hoping Capcom can find some way to bring it to the Switch. Can you imagine the possibilities with the Joy-Con controllers? You could move them around to defend yourself. And with HD rumble, you could precisely feel every hit to yourself and every strike you make.

Just found your channel looking for VR RE playthroughs, subbed! You two crack me up, love the video :) I have the Vive for VR, haven't tested the PSVR yet. This game looks terrifying in VR, but I'm concerned about motion sickness. Almost any Vive game I've played that uses fluid FPS controls has killed my stomach. Did you get used to the motion, or does your stomach always feel a bit "Ehhhh...slow down..." while playing this?

They made some adjustments that really help with the nausea IMO. First, the movement is already pretty slow. But the "skip" turning _really_ cuts down on the nausea factor. I played for about 2 hours last night with no nausea at all, and I've been susceptible to nausea in almost every VR game I've played.

That's good to hear! On Vive, I mostly have stuck to games that let you teleport around, since those are very comfortable. I've been considering getting a PSVR, especially since I have a PS4-Pro, which I hope helps out. What you said at the end of this video about how she was terrifying because you feel like you are making eye contact is a great way to put how VR feels. It is so hard to express why VR is so scary to people that haven't tried it. But you are right, I never feel like I have any eye contact or direct connection between me and game characters, while in VR they are looking right at you, and you at them in a way that makes it truly frightening. I really don't know if I could handle that section where she is attacking you, in VR. I honestly don't know how VR will turn out in the next few years, but it adds something that I just can't feel from any 2D screen. I make a little escape room VR game for fun, and I love to build large rooms and have shadows all over - it makes me feel like a little kid again looking around in those rooms.

Geometry Dash updated to 2.1 btw. i know it's hard to record it with Babyotter and all, but i would like to see it come back. Electrodynamix is the hardest level until the demons, so you still have Hexagon Force, Blast Processing(which is very easy) and the new level, Fingerdash to do before jumping into coins and the demons.

You wouldn't turn fast enough without the controller -- the head tracking is only for fine-tuning. And the quick "skip" turns actually cut way down on the nausea imo
