One thing I find interesting after playing the remake so recently, is that in this version you don’t suspect Barry so much as he’s there when UNrico gets shot. In the remake, they lead you to believe it could be Barry all the way up til Wesker tells us he threatened his family.

God, I remember having the first Resident Evil for the psx on platinum disc and being too terrified to play it. One night I had a nightmare that a zombie appeared at the top of the stairs in the house I grew up in, and it resembled the first zombie you encounter in the game. I went into a blind panic and woke up.

I've always wondered why the FMV that introduced hunters has different building layout where there's a gap between the walls that let the hunter to go inside the building instead of opening the door to get in like Jill did. Great walkthrough as usual by the way.

Noticed that too after looking at a few of the videos on the RE1 beta. I’d guess the player actually was supposed to encounter Yawn there when the FMV was made and the game layout went through a redesign after and they left it in.

It's kinda weird how they handle the first zombie in Jill's game, especially in the remake where they add a quick shot of the zombie apparently going back into the hall after Barry shoots it even if you killed it before going back into the dining room If they ever do another remake of RE1 I think the way they should handle it is if you lead it back to Barry, he kills it and it's dead, but if you kill it yourself Barry will come into the hall because he heard gunfire and sees the zombie as well as Kenneth's body

For all the hullabaloo surrounding the soundtrack to this version of the game---and I don't deny how silly that one infamous piece of the score is---this was the version I played as a child, I think a lot of it gives a way more unsettling atmosphere to the game, it evokes something like The Shining for me, whereas the soundtrack to the original 1996 version of the game feels just kind of like hackneyed haunted house type music, honestly.
