Most of them were pointless. The fight is scripted to some degree. You just have to shoot her a few times and kite her to the top for the coup de grace. If you don’t advance you could put 1,000,000 rounds in her needlessly.

After a harrowing initial play through, it was very cathartic to go back through with my newly maxed out shot gun with infinite ammo and just start blasting. It's the ultimate revenge for all the (fun and exciting) stress this game causes. A couple quick play throughs later and you're sitting with the max level magnum. It was my favorite part of RE8. The RE4 remake is incredible, but didn't do infinite ammo for all weapons. I admit it was a little disappointing and I hope they bring it back to future games.

Lengthy Response sorry. RE4 Remake did do infinite ammo but the criteria to unlock it is different from RE Village. I also only played the VR mode for Village when I recently got the PSVR2 so forgive me if I miss somethings. In Village I think all you need is to get to NG+ and fully upgrade a weapon before the infinite ammo upgrade becomes available. RE4 Remake gives you two guns with infinite ammo upgrades. The Tommy Gun, which I think you need to get an S or an A on Hardcore or Professional Difficulty to unlock it. Then you need to upgrade it at the Merchant and the exclusive upgrade is infinite ammo. The Hand Cannon is similar. The two ways to get it is get an S with all the characters in Mercenaries Mode or complete the game on professional with out using bonus weapons which are the Tommy Gun and the "Primal Knife". Once you get the Hand Cannon, infinite ammo comes from the merchant like the Tommy Gun. The primal Knife comes from destroying all Salazar Wind up Dolls (1 per chapter). It has infinite durability once you get the Exclusive upgrade from the Merchant. Their is an Infinite ammo rocket launcher which you get for first time game completion I believe (it's been a while). The rest of the weapons you get infinite ammo for getting S+ on Professional difficulty. It unlocks an accessory which so long as you have it on, you'll get infinite ammo to reload from.

RE4 I haven't played in about 15 years back on the old PS2. I think It did have 2 guns with infinite ammo. The Chicago Typewriter and the infinite rocket launcher. It's wild, but you can buy those for money if you cycle through the game a couple of times. I think it required you to have exclusive upgrade on all the guns or something. Something I wish RE8 did. Once you max something out, you'd get a really cool, really bad ass one last final upgrade. Both such great games
