Resident Permission

Many creatively inclined Indians are moving to Goa, united by a desire to find out if the reasons are personal or reflective of a broader shift in what it means to make things in this country.
In April 2023, COSMOS commissioned their first artist in residency program in Goa, India with experimental composer and performance artist Hardi Kurda. Over ten days Hardi met with a number of artists - and spoke about a number of things. This short film depicts elements of what those conversations were and where they happened, through the eyes of the residency producer and COSMOS’ Goan Ambassador, Rana Ghose. It also alludes to a reasoning as to why those encounters happened, and why this ambassador chose to do it in the first place.
