This is the house that Ronald Defeo Jr then 23 on November 13 1974 at 3:15 AM shot all six members of his family while they slept. Then December 18 1975 George and Kathy Lutz buy the house for $80,000 from the Defeo estate and purchased the Defeo furniture as well stayed 28 days and fled. Then in 1977 Jay Anson's Amityville Horror came out as a hard copy book, and in 1979 The Amityville Horror was made. Then in 1982 Amityville II The Possession was loosely based on the Defeo murders.

@@mjbaz1 From what I hear the master bedroom was expanded by knocking out a wall, and the "red room" has been walled over. The kitchen was totally redone, and the outdoor pool was filled in years ago ; )

This is the right house. It isn't haunted of course, but it does get a lot of tourist attention, and 6 people were murdered in the house in 1974. I would totally live there. Gorgeous house. Beautiful view of the canal.

i saw another video where a guy driving by the house said the address had been changed to 108 Ocean Ave. possibly to prevent people from coming by to see the 'haunted house'' ON a side note: there is no way you could get me to step foot in that house after dark..
