SPCA Monterey County (they are there for the Palisades), Paws of War will help trap pets or locate deceased pets. Pet owners keep in mind that they could connect with rescuers to get feeding/ water stations & motion detector cameras to track down pets that survived to keep them alive & soon trap them with animal rescuer traps.

Before you can rebuild - corpse smelling dogs will have to do their thing on every property - then the EPA will have to recon your property to see what 'hazardous' waste is on it (Asbestos, lead paint or just 'regular' paint, oil, cleaning solutions you had in your garage or under your sinks etc. etc.). That stuff will have to be 'bagged up' times 2 or 3. Then when that's signed off the Army Corps of Engineers will come and 'scrape you lot' IF by then they have found a location for all of this 'Environmentally Unsafe' Debis to be disposed AND you have approval from the EPA that your property won't be a 'runoff hazard' and/or erosion hazard if and when it rains. Then they'll have to remove the top 6 inches of soil on your lot and find a place for that also. Then they'll cover your lot with several inches of gravel to prevent rainwater erosion or rainwater runoff of your soil into the canyons or down the storm drains which they will already have blocked off. It's completely different now than the 1961 Bel Air Fire.
