Any spark can start a fire in an area like Southern California that is mostly chaparral that naturally burns when conditions are right. There has been almost no rain this winter after quite a lot last winter, which means there is a lot of fuel for fires from plant growth. Add to that the Santa Ana winds that have been blowing for weeks at very high MPH, which causes issues with plants and power lines. Why would they be hiding it if there were an arsonist?
