Residents Living in the Shadows of the Bristol VA Landfill Crisis

The Bristol VA Landfill is emitting noxious gases and volatile organic compounds into our community, impacting residents in both Bristol TN and Bristol VA. Our families shelter-in-place most nights and whenever the gases are especially bad. Some have evacuated long-term or moved away permanently. Symptoms range from mild to severe when the gases infiltrate our homes, leaving many unable to sleep, drive, or function well at work or school.
The height of this environmental crisis has lasted well over two years now. Listen to how we are suffering, how we are rallying together, and what we are doing to effect change and bring our community together.

Ive lived in Bristol all my life , except for about 8 years . I come here at the age of 8 years. I know this landfill is causing all types of illnesses. The past 2 years have been real bad. Shortness of breath ,eyes burning and the smell is awful. I hope something can be done it's misrable here..

Anybody that is complaining about the smell so probably go ahead and move the symptoms people have been talking about have been a joke nobody is really suffering in this town if you are suffering leave is very simple I have been here for 22 years bristols my home I do not want to share my home with a bunch of cry babies. ✌🏻

Kingsport does stink but I would rather live in kingsport and smell Eastman and the domtar than deal with the toxic gasses that's coming from the Bristol va landfill. The side effects from this is unreal
