Awesome information in this! One question - could you add the filler to part A of your resin, mix it well, and then add part B? This may help to get the filler thoroughly mixed before the RC-3 starts to set. - Update - I tried this using Smooth Cast 300 and Urefil 3, and it worked out great. I poured 350mL of Part B, added about 250mL of Urefil, a few drops of my pigment (Smooth-On) and stirred until thoroughly mixed, a few minutes. Then I added Part A, stirred another 60 seconds and poured it all. Worked out perfectly!

So apparently, KZbin got it's notification emails bumped to my spam folder, so I didn't see this. I'm sorry, I'd of responded a lot sooner. Yeah, it helps to mix it into one side thoroughly before blending the two sides, but I've still found that Alumilite just doesn't have much pot life. You might gain another 15 seconds or so doing it this way but I think you're going to face losing batches unless you cut the filler amount. With Smooth On products, it's not an issue since the potlife is better.

Hobby Lobby caters to a crowd who loves their sales, so sticker price is high, sale price is close to what they actually want. It's a silly game, but it is what it is.
