Gorgeous stuff! Julie Cutts from Pouring Your Heart Out has been experimenting with holo cellophane lately too. You have fantastic tips in your videos, which I love. I'm sorry your mold got ruined, but they are fabulous. I had thought I'd give these a pass, as I'm not really into crystals, but yours are so lovely, now I want them! I just was forced into slightly early retirement, however, so I'll be on a small fixed income. I'm putting this on my wish list anyway. Turns I UT, I'm loving my free time, and I'm working on fixing up my house to make space for one, or maybe TWO craft rooms!❤️

I think you will really love these molds. They're so pretty In person. The way the crystal is cut it throws some pretty rainbow reflections if sunlight hits them. You know I used to watch Julie all the time and Im just now realizing I haven't seen her notifications of new videos on my KZbin lately. Turned out so pretty. If you were to try top coat, how would you do that? I have a sphere I had to sand down but I havent coated it because I am not sure how to do so lol.
@naptimecreations3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Christine 🤗💙 I can't wait to make some more like this with white iridescent cellophane. I think that would be so pretty too. To top coat the sticky one, I was thinking I would sand it down a bit. Tape the bottom and raise it up off my table on a small cup. Then apply resin with my gloved finger all over the entire piece. I am going to try it soon. For the sphere it would be more tricky since it's not flat anywhere. Have you ever tried clear spray paint ? It works really well and you can build it up over several coats to make it as glossy as you want. You could try it on your sphere. I like the rustoleum brand gloss clear spray paint. It works so well. I would have used it on this piece but the sticky part makes me worried so I want to top coat it instead. But if it was only matte and not sticky I would use the rustoleum. It's so much easier than resin top coats 🤗💙
@christines24513 жыл бұрын
@@naptimecreations oh really. Even after I sanded it, the rustoleum will bring back the shine like resin? Thanks
@naptimecreations3 жыл бұрын
@@christines2451 It should. I've used it on super matte pieces before and it's made them shiny again. But if there's a lot of texture from the sanding a resin top coat might be best.

@haleymott6972 жыл бұрын
@@naptimecreations or if I use the same resin you used in this video, and do the same thing of 2 inch pours. How long after a pour is it in gel stage and ready for the next pour? 24 hours? I’m so clueless 🤣
@naptimecreations2 жыл бұрын
@@haleymott697 on these I used the floral epoxy from the epoxy resin store its a 3 to 1 ratio epoxy. If you use that same resin and wait 24 hours between pours you won't have the lines. It sets up slower than other brands and isn't full hardened until 48 hours after you pour. So doing the layers 20-24 hours after the previous layer you will avoid the lines of demarcation. The resin I used today was floral epoxy from the epoxy resin store. It's a deep casting 3 to 1 ratio epoxy. It is a very thin viscosity and great for projects like this.
