Again I'm going to experiment with the swipe technique. This time I'm going to swipe on 2 layers to see if I can create some nice effects and depth. I'm also using some nice autumn colors. Let me know what you think of this resin painting. 😀

Now, adding the copper border is so nice and innovative! It seems to reach out and joins the rest of the colors. My eye really likes the way it brings out the gold, and the effects of it all over black is magnificent. You should change your name from « Just paint » to Amazing paint »!

I used automotive pearl powder to mix with clear enamel, I may try it with the 2 part epoxy. I have some wild powder pearls, and flakes I want to try. this acrylic world is all new to me.

No, you can't control resin 100% . You can make flowers in resin, but they would never look like when you paint them. ❣😀

Petra..I was wondering if you have a heated ventilated garage.I ask as I am in Canada and the temps are now too cold for the resin to set properly..and with the furnace on no ventilation..how do u do it?

Hi Susan, Yes I do have a heated ventilated garage. I have a small heater with which I can control the temperature in my studio. The walls are also insulated. To ventilate I have windows on both sides of my studio that I can open. An hour before I start working with resin in my studio, I turn on the heater and heat up the resin. During working with resin I open the windows and lower the heater so that it stays around 21 degrees, also during drying.

Hallo Petra Ik hoop dat je deze reactie nog te zien krijgt. Ik vind dit een prachtig werk. Eén van de mooiste op KZbin. Ik ben nog maar recent begonnen met resin art, en heb wat problemen om cellen te vormen. Het zwart dat je toevoegt om over te swipen, welk pigment is dat? Voeg je ipa alcohol toe? Welk goudpigment heb je hier gebruikt? Ik ben op je etsy-shop geweest en heb hierover 1 vraag/opmerking Bij de prijzen staat..inclusief taxen daar waar van toepassing....maar er wordt nadien wel BTW aangerekend.

Thank you so much Shazia for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. No, I waited 24 hours before I poured the second layer. Then it's not totaly cured, that will take 1 month, but after 24 hours it's touch dry.

Belize What colors can be mixed with resins to give a gloss Is it acrylic or other colors please answer?

You can mix pigment powders, inks and paste into resin. I always use colors that are made to be used in resin. Normaly acrylic paint is not designed to be used in resin.

Since Stone Coat doesn't make the base tints anymore have any other suggestions? There new stuff is not the same.

A comparable pigment paste that you can use as a base is the Cell Base from Eli-Chem Resin Supplies Pepper Weinglass.

Two questions what is in the black that u spread before swiping? And those interference colors, is there something different with them or is it just a part of the name interference gold like ruby red? Sorry I'm new to all of this and just trying to understand it all
