Please take her advice about the respirator! I got paracardial effusion of my heart and left lung. It was the WORST PAIN of my life. Short story. I've had two broken arms,broken ankle, glass went thro my right ankle bone & hot stuck there. I swallowed the neighbors heart meds,stomach pumped. Shattered the same arm so bad I was a hair away from getting screws in it. The bone was sticking out. And I gave birth to all my kids 100% natural. No meds at all. That paracardial effusion was 1,000 times worse than all of that combined. You can't sleep, be awake, move, sit up, lay down ect. Every breath you take is Excruciating! I was misdiagnosed over & over again so I got repeat bouts of this. It was 6 to 8 days of a break. And a week to 2 weeks of sheer absolute god awful pain. They kept sending me home telling me to take ibuprofen. I was taking 22 to 28 per day. I was driven to a different hospital after 6 mnths of this. That's when I found out what was wrong. They said I'm lucky to be alive. About a month into my recovery, my hair started falling out. That's a whole nother story but it was from the trauma my body went thro. Usually seen in car crash victims. It's called tela-flub-ium or something idk how to spell it. Anyways, I had been making resin art for a year when I started getting these symptoms but it really only takes once. So please, PLEASE use a strong mask. Not no cv mask or dust mask. It won't help. I was in a week ventilated area. I just didn't use a mask. And yes, I've apologized to my mom for what I put her thro as a kid 😂 to say I was accident prone, it's am understatement.

How do you keep the crayons from exploding in the resin?

i’ve never had them explode in resin, i don’t think i do anything differently. what kind of resin are you using ?

@kateyvette Few other questions since I'm new at this. Working on it now as I type this. 1. I'm doing dried flowers and jewelry charms in mine. I used Amazing Clear Cast + resin brand. I did first layer than waiting for min like you did before next layer. Thing I'd after the 40 min the in my measuring cup was already hard and the cup was hot. I suppose I was a few minutes over 40 but not by much is this normal? I ending up having to mix another batch. 2. Do ALL bubbles have to be gone? For me, I got the major big noticeable bubbles put but it seemed like even aftee the air gun there were still lots of tiny bubbles , which seem to be gone now , but was concerning to me at the time. Is it so crucial to remove all bubbles or just the majority? THANKS ☺️

Will the resin in the cup be good during the six hours, like will it dry out?

you have 45 minutes of working time with mixed resin- at least the brand i use but each type has its own time limit- after the 45 min the resin starts hardening so you can’t really use it anymore

@kateyvette ok then so after the 6hrs then you mixed the next batch? Cause I thought you were using the same cup oops. I may just pour my next layer now so I don't waste more resin

i do separate layers after 6 hours but you have to mix a new batch of resin each time

yeah so just make sure you don’t mix too much resin & then end up wasting it bc you didn’t use it all, it’s always better to try and mix small amounts if you’re unsure of how much you’ll end up using :)
