If you PRE-WET the dried flowers with the UV resin, you will have far less bubbles. Submerge the flowers in a cup of resin sitting in a cup of warm water and let them sit, there will initially be a lot of bubbles trapped, and the heated resin is a thinner viscosity than room temperature, allowing the bubbles to rise easier. Agitate the flowers to allow the bubbles to rise and pop. Then add the resin soaked flowers to the partially filled bead molds, after running a plastic toothpick around to remove any bubbles stuck to the walls of the mold.

Thank you for the information. I have done that with other projects. Most of the time I don't get a lot of bubbles. With these beads, there were a few, but nothing major.

Glad I found your channel, most of the resin channels are for epoxy resin. I've been playing with uv-resin for about a year, one of my favorite things to do is to use temporary tattoos in a pendant. Thanks for the aluminum foil trick, going to have to try it.

Your beads came out so pretty with the flowers! I found that using a UV resin light cures resin much better than a UV nail light...I got mine from Michael's and it works so well, and no need for the foil! :)

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you liked the beads. I think that's one of my favorite things to make. I actually use the foil door so that I don't accidentally cure something else that I'm working on. I'm working in a small space, so when I have resin in a mixing bowl, I don't want it to cure by mistake. I have a 36 watt led/uv light and it cures just fine. I guess it's all about what works best for you, but I'm always trying new products with resin. Thank you again. 😊

These ball molds are ones I have used a lot. I can't figure out how to keep the bubbles from forming at the rim of the pour hole!! 😬 I've even let it rise higher so I could extract the bubbles. I've used regular resin and UV resin. I recently purchased a better quality epoxy resin and there were no bubbles as I slowly poured steadily,and upon unveiling the mold I still had pin size holes around the pour edge? Any advice?😩😩🙋🙏❤
@LorellesArtandTreasures2 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that you are having so many bubbles. Mine definitely had a few, but as for the bubbles around the rim, you can use a lighter. The flame will make them burst. Just glide the flame over the top and the bubble will pop. Also, someone told me to put the mold on one of those coffee warmers and that should reduce bubbles. I have not tried that yet. I use either the lighter or my heat gun or hair dryer. I hope this is some help to you. Try them out and see what works best for you. 😊

Do wear a mask while working with uv resin? I just bought let’s resin brand uv resin and just couldn’t use it due to the smell. Although it says non toxic and safe to use around animals and children 🤔 first time using any type of uv resin. Any tips or advise ??
@LorellesArtandTreasures6 ай бұрын
Definitely wear a mask and gloves. I don't wear them only for the video. I don't want uv resin my camera equipment. If wearing gloves, sometimes resin can get a little messy. Make sure you work in a well ventilated room. When curing, the odor increases because of the gases released. Start off doing a few simple molds. Don't run out and buy tons of supplies. You can use powdered eye shadow instead of mica powder, you can get beads and glitter from dollar stores. If you need to sand or file your piece (a paper nail file is good), wear a mask. I don't use uv resin any where near my pets. If you want to know any specific things, just ask. I did a video on resin tips you can check out. Have fun with your resin, don't worry too much, wear your safety gear and you should be good.

One more thing, I mentioned the pets. I would not use it around children. Also, I've seen other youtubers mention using it with kids. I do not recommend that at all. It is not safe for them even though it says nontoxic.

Hi there! I love it. Tip I learned, under these molds specially while pouring the uv resin, use a tea/coffee heat pad so the uv resin is going to be more fluid and pop out even the micro bubbles 😀. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.

Thank you so much. That's a great tip, I'll definitely have to try that. Bubbles are the worst to get rid of. Anything that will help remove them, I will try. 😊 Thank you. I really appreciate it.

can i turn this into earrings? if so, how?
@LorellesArtandTreasures2 жыл бұрын
You certainly can make these into earrings. You can drill a very small hole and add an eyelet screw to it, then a jump ring and connect it to a fish hook earring to make a dangle earring. Another option would be just to add a post earring. I hope that helps. Thank you very much for your comment.

Hi why do you use tinfoil?
@LorellesArtandTreasures2 жыл бұрын
I was using the tinfoil under my pieces to help radiate the light when curing. I also use it as a outer door for my uv lamp for the same reason and also to keep the light from coming out of that area. If the light is on and you have anything with the uv resin on it, such as a brush, it will start curing it even though is not directly under the light. I hope this was helpful, thank you for your comment. If you need any other information, please ask.

sounds like the resin you had from Wish was mixed with Alcohol
@LorellesArtandTreasures2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. You might be right, I never thought of that. I truly wasn't sure what happened with that resin from Wish. I only buy my resin from Michaels or Amazon and it's always Signature Crafts UV Resin.
