@@ResinAsYouWish Thank you. My channel is fine art and colored pencils, so while I have worked many times with Resin, my skills are not so good. I have 4 resin projects I want to do in my brain and you seem to be the right person to follow. I love your multimedia approach to it. Create a chemical wasteland until it looks perfect. That's what I am looking to learn.

These are absolutely stunning! But I really wish I could see some of that beautiful "bling it" gold. That said these truly are masterpieces!!!

It is a challenge to video resin, it’s so reflective. Daylight works the best but glitter and holographic effects don’t show up in videos unless I can find sun or jewelry store type lighting, then you see the bulbs in the video 🤣 probably the biggest challenge I have is getting good footage of them. The bling it looks amazing - the sparkle is to die for
@ssue4q4 жыл бұрын
@@ResinAsYouWish Wow I bet it is gorgeous! Maybe you could re- show them to us in the sunlight to an intro to your next resin coasters? What a special treat that would be! An aid in selling I would think! But I'm sure you don't need any Aid in that department. LOL so okay through Pinterest I was able to find your Etsy store I do not see this set ARE THEY ALREADY SOLD?
@ResinAsYouWish4 жыл бұрын
@@ssue4q hi, they aren’t sold I haven’t put them in the shop yet, I usually put them through some heavy mug tests for a couple of days before I post - just to be sure my resin mixture was spot on. You are going to laugh, I live in AK and it’s the time of year where the sun sets before I leave for work. This means I can only video on weekends and the sun is rare - all we have is a cloudy sky. I bought one of those light boxes for doing it but it was awful because the bulbs were reflected so badly it took away from the coaster. If we get a burst of sunshine I’ll run out and capture it👍

Those are Stunning. So much depth. Do you wait for resin to thicken. Maybe I am too impatient or afraid it will go off and not able to work with it...Christy I just adore your style. You rock my art world 🌎.. thanks Hugs Sheryl. Oh is your neck better after surgery? I hope so. I am going to pour for first time after thumb surgery tomorrow. I just can't wait. Later hun. Your the best.
@ResinAsYouWish4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sheryl, I am definitely a NEW PERSON now! I am shocked at how 6 weeks laid up impacts the body. Going from no movement to gasping after one flight of stairs LOL - anyway all good. I do not wait for my resin to thicken, what I do is, I come in - get my colors off the shelf, get the cups, tools, molds and camera set up. I stir up my epoxy, and add it the measured out cups - then I hit record and start. So the resin I'm using is less than 2 to 5 minutes old.
@gourdhead224 жыл бұрын
So that resin is thick i might have to get some. I like general use epoxy from the epoxy resin store but at times I wish it was thicker. Thanks dear. Glad to hear your doing well. I got loads of new molds for Christmas and can't wait to get back to pouring. Take care and stay safe. xx

These are amazing. I like how you set up your coasters. I have a question from one artist to another how do you go about getting people to go from liking your work to buying your work. If this is to private of a question let me know.
@ResinAsYouWish4 жыл бұрын
Hi , people don't really buy my work LOL! I sell them slowly and it's enough to keep doing resin and not have a house full of it. I love doing resin so I started doing videos sort of like video recipes so I could remember how and what I used. There a lot of coaster tutorials on my channel where the item is still in my shop. Most folks who do purchase my items are led there by their searches for resin art or coasters etc not from this channel. I love KZbin because here I can talk to people about resin and crafting. So basically you are talking about two totally different groups of people those who want to do it, and those who want to buy it . I recommend you watch the youtube videos in the studio to see what they have to say about getting your beautiful art pointed in the direction you want it
@YakuzaTenma4 жыл бұрын
@@ResinAsYouWish Awesome thank you very much for the direction. I really do like watching your videos. They are really calming and amazing how they turn out. Keep going with your art :)

Can you tell me if you put clear coat on the front and the back? What do you use on the back to protect from drips?

Ha I’m early. This looked beautiful. I’ve been wanting to get into making things people could potentially eat off of. I’ve done some tentative googling but it’s pretty unclear if any of the ones that are “food safe” actually are. Have you had any experience with or heard anything about these types of resins out of curiosity?
@ResinAsYouWish4 жыл бұрын
Food safe is going to be epoxy that is meant for countertops. Not art epoxy. I use countertop epoxy because coasters are treated like a countertop. The only caution I have is this - the products you use to color the epoxy will change it, for example if you use acrylic, it may make that part of the piece less UV or potentially not food safe - so that being said, you should have a final top/clear coat to seal it . To be clear not all countertop resin is the same and there are clear warnings and cautionary information on the label. (I do not have professional epoxy knowledge )

For the first layer, maybe bits of broken mirror mixed in with the glass would have worked. Still a lovely piece though.
