These local markets are so fun. And love hearing the Italian being spoken as you walk past. Looks like it was a beautiful day. Thanks so much for taking us along. - Henry

Hey Henry, yeah it had been raining every day here but that Saturday was supposed to be clear. It made for a nice walk.

I need to thank you so much for these videos. I just came back from Rome yesterday and i had a great time. I saw your video about Rome and i almost made the same internerary as you did. I never got lost. I always knew where to go. Thanks to you. You have my respect sir.

Really loved this video. It always amazes me, at how animated and friendly the people are, in that part of Italia. *_great job filming, and thanks_* 👍👍👍

Yeah, I was kind of surprised how many people were talking with me as I filmed. After I was done I went back to the peanut stand (16:00) and bought a few bags of different nuts. All good stuff. People were very friendly.

True! Been in Istanbul this summer! I live very close to Resina Market on the famous Gold Mile, there you can find many villas built in the gold period of Naples and Ercolano, also you can find the beatutiful Reggia di Portici.

Always interesting to see areas where few tourists go, you may well have been the only non-Neapolitan speaker at the market in November... Thank you!

Yes, I think I was. Some people gave me some strange looks but I ended up talking with quite a few people there. I really enjoyed walking around and would like to go back again soon. One shop owner asked me to please buy him a Levis book on my next trip back to the states. I suppose I will....but I think I can just get it on Amazon. :)

Nice video. Many friendly happy faces. Also, many not so happy angry faces, looking you over pretty hard. Those two or three older people toward the end, look like they confronted you. Did you pay them off? Give them a card explaining what you were doing? It seemed as though they didn't want you to continue. Be careful.

Ciao, glad you enjoyed the walk. The next walk will be of the ancient town of Matera. The walk is already posted up but I am still working on the captions. It should be ready by next Saturday. As far as new walks, I am hoping to film a couple Christmas markets, maybe in Rome and Sorrento.

Yeah, that is why I like Naples so much. So many other Italian towns feel like tourist destinations with souvenir stands on every corner. Naples is different. I went to this market the weekend before with my kids and knew I needed to come back and film a walk. Interesting place.

How much of the destroyed city has changed since you last went there? Also are those new clothes they selling? or your area ,they need to sell to survive?
@ProWalks4 жыл бұрын
You mean Herculaneum? I haven't been back since I filmed the walk. I want to go back with my new camera though and film an updated version. I think I could have done a better job. I think the clothes are all second hand still but I'm not sure where they get them. There are big clothe donation stations around in different areas but I'm not sure if that is where they are getting them. I think those shop owners probably own their shops and have lived there for generations. The clothes are just how they get by.

No, I went up there at this time last year and it was freezing cold and not too many people out. I didn't see any flooding while I was there luckily......although it would have made for an interesting walk.

The guy who gave me the thumbs up there was one of the shop owners. I should have asked how long the scaffolding had been up. I think it has been there for quite a while....maybe even since the 80s earthquake?
