I love wearing cowboy boots but haven’t jumped into the hats yet. I love seeing a review on an affordable hat such as this Cody Johnson. It is definitely one I will check out to ease my way into wearing cowboy hats.

Defiantly recommend starting with a cheaper straw in the summer , that way you can tell if it's for you or not before you drop money on a felt in the fall/winter.

Good review. I bought this hat a couple of years ago. It’s held up well on fishing trips etc. I’ll wear it tonight to the rodeo as it’s still to hot for a felt. A good hat for the collection, you won’t cry if you lose it or ruin it.

Have that on right now and wear it daily here in Alabama.I wear the nicer tan colored one for more formal summer church etc.i payed about 36 for that one and the nicer tan Cody was 120 or 130 if I remember last year from horse town/cavenders.Thanks for the review.

Everyone who runs around in the Sun needs a decent hat. It keeps wrinkles away and saves the tips of your ears. I have worn hats for decades, and this video outlines good advice. I will just say a good hat will be cool. I wear Resistol.

I’m looking for a new straw because one of my buddys flattened my cheap Justin and saw these in a store, I was hoping it would be able to be shaped into a cattleman crease but that’s unfortunate that the lacquer is so thick it can’t be shaped. it still is probably my favorite budget straw I have seen yet but I’ll keep a look out for a little while longer before I pull the trigger on one of these. It’s my pleasure. If I can make a recommendation i would say a great hat to get would be an American hat co they are a bit more expensive but will last longer look better and are able to be shaped however you like. If you want the least expensive American there bangora is gonna be more expensive then those budget hats but is worth the extra little money.

Yea I would like a American hat co straw because I watched your resistiol vs American hat co video a while back and was really impressed with the quality of the American straw but unfortunately I just don’t know if I could justify shelling out another $100. I also don’t know if there are any places around me that sell American hats too so I will have to do my research but I’m thinking of the budget hats this resistol is looking like the best deal. I will definitely keep my eye out for American hat co straws though!

I’ve had that hat for 4 years and never had a problem with it or the shaping I gave it to someone else and they had it reshaped no problem only reason I gave it away is because I didn’t have any space for it I buy 2-3 hats every season

In Australia it sells for $150 Australian dollars, so roughly $90 American dollars.

I saw some guy on Instagram from Mexico who used the heat from a heat gun to reshape a bangora type hat like that. I guess the heat relaxes the lacquer to a point were its makes it more malleable and its something you can work with. When I cools down it settles into that shape. Thanks for your videos!

Yes absolutely my friend you can definitely relax it with the extreme heat of a heat gun but even being in the car with 100+ degrees outside will not really mess with this hat so it is good for that purpose but yes if you really wanted to shape it you probably could using a heat gun thank you so much for the kind compliment and for your support of the channel.

I always wanted a cowboy hat but my kids made fun of me when I tried them on. I always wear ball caps. Since they are grown and I’m revisiting it. I need something to work outside in hot Texas weather.

Well my friend they’ll laugh at you when you try it on but as it becomes a habit than they embrace it. This is a great hat for the money But if you’re going to be working outside and wants some thing that is a little bit cooler feeling than this and you don’t mind spending a bit of extra money for something that is going to be lighter feel and looks better and last longer then get an American hat company hat It is worth every little extra penny and you will be happy you did it.

Ariat Bangora , it's flatter in the back like you said you wanted, it's not so heavily lacquered that it's immovable , has a leather sweat band , has a rectangle in the back on the band so you can tell what side to put your hat on quickly and its $49 bucks... is is a fancy outing hat, no , it's a work hat. But it defiantly checks the boxes as a great work hat.

For a starter hat or someone that needs a hat , they would not wear too often This is good, but realistically for anything else I recommend American hat company. It will last longer feel better and look much nicer.

since American's are not available up here in Canada, the Resistol's are pretty much the king. i've never seen a hat go dollar on par , so a 20x for $149 US , selling up here for $143 cad. If you are in Canada, this is about your best option, for value on price point. When you blow up hats in bar fights ( bouncer), its nice not to be spending $200, I didn';t even know these existed, so I might be looking for one of these for my bar hat.
