Resita 764.425 at Welshpool

Resita built 0-8-0T No.764.425 is now running on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, Powys. Bought in 2006 the locomotive has been completely rebuilt by the Remarul Locomotive Works in Romania. The locomotive now has a full 10 year boiler certificate as well as new parts to the motion, both cylinders and valve chests rebored and pistons and valves fitted with new rings, new tanks, cab and bunker. Both Klein-Lindner articulating axles were also fully rebuilt to their original specification. Seen here working the Reverse Curves after climbing the 1 in 29 Golfa Bank.

We have here in Resita a whole museum of steam engines,in open-space,but no one tried to put one back on the rail.We also have a big one with a maximum speed of 110 km/h

I'm afraid Resita appeared to be making heavy wether of it on the Golfa Bank . Visited a few years go and taken to see Resita , according to the volunteer who took me she was a pile of scrap due to the poor quality rebuild she had , had

ah :) ... there was one of these loco types shunting in a factory in my hometown (90km from Resita) .... now they repainted it and was displayed (too bad its near the skatepark... stupid kids made some grafitty on it :( )
