Welcome back to the world of reloading Paul. It is good to hear from our friends in Canada, we have quite a few regular viewers from our northern neighbors.

Ran into the same issue with my 308 rifles. Loading for AR10, M1A ,Desertech MDRX and Kimber bolt gun. I also went to the smallbase RCBS die. Keep up the good Work.

Why not store caliper with jaws closed? Never heard that. Great video.

Good question. I was told by a engineer that can ruin the calibration especially if it is closed tightly. Thanks for watching and posting.

Love the Channel. New to reloading so newbie question. I understand if the 9mm case is too long not worth trimming. What if the case is shorter than speck? Can I use or do they have to be exact length? After resizing many of mine are slightly shorter than speck.
@sdkweber8 ай бұрын
Very good question. They case can be slightly shorter and that is OK. How short are they? It is of course ideal to have cases of the exact correct length but I have loaded plenty of 9mm Luger cases that are slightly shorter than spec (but very close) and they are safe and reliable to shoot. Just make sure it is not a 9x18 (Makarov) or .380 case. I recommend looking for 9mm Luger on the headstamp. I hope this helps you.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Lyman’s reloading book states the measure should be no longer than .754. Most of mine after resizing are coming in between .745 and .750. Yes all Luger Brass. Is this acceptable?
@sdkweber8 ай бұрын
@@MrScubalife I just checked a bunch of prepared brass and the shortest is 0.747"... that is after expanding the mouth/flaring. Your 0.745" cases are quite short and based on how the 9mm Luger headspaces I would be a bit concerned about those really short cases. BTW, are the short cases all the same "brand" of brass? I also checked the actual SAAMI spec for 9mm Luger. OAL is 0.754" with a tolerance of 0.010"... so cases 0.744" to 0.754" are all in spec.

Yes, great call out. The brass that is shorter than 0.747 S&B 9mm Luger. I have about 12 out of 50. The PMC and Winchester are all longer. I through all the shorter S&B out! I truly appreciate your help and expertise. Being new at this. It’s nice to have a channel that teaches. I can’t wait to see your next videos. Happy New Year.
