For me, I like to make all my visuals two complimentary colors that way when I change the hue it still remains a complimentary color combo and looks good.

Great VJ-friendly content tip right here! Make sure that color scheme is hue shiftable 🙌

I use Colorize for most of my color management - I've made custom palettes for "Red" "Blue" "Magenta" etc using a 3 (or 5) color palette - I keep the start and end colors of the palette Black and White, and customize the middle color(s). Make sure the effect is in "Palette" mode (not Color mode) and you get an effect pretty much the same as "Tri-tone" for After Effects - which i use all the time and find better than "Tint" as it keeps the blacks black, and the whites white (so you keep good contrast in your clips), but tints everything in between. Great videos - thanks for sharing.

Point 1 about comms is a good one. It's easy to get trapped behind a desk feeling powerless when there are people around who could help.

@@SeanBowes i've been vjing and making my living with doing from avenue 2 2012/11, till today (arena 7.10) yet somehow missed the "hue scale" function all these times. thanks again!

@@ZunayedSabbirAhmed I love that! This is why I started doing these. There are so many features and everyone uses them differently. There’s always a cool new trick to discover. I’m sure I would learn 10 new things watching how you work too :)

What are you suggested ways of changing between colorize palletes? it would be nice if i could set a midi map to change to palettes
@SeanBowes Жыл бұрын
Probably use multiple colorize effects set to different presets, or just change it manually. There might be a cool way to do it with Wire to create your own version of 'recolor' but I suck at wire lol

What do you think about Add Subtract vfx, where you change RGB individually with a knobs for more controlable look of the clip?
@SeanBowes Жыл бұрын
Another solid option. I dont use it too much because it feels a little too fiddly for my workflow, i dont love using a ton of knobs to achieve a task, but it definitely allows for more nuanced control than the options I mentioned. If you like it, use it!

Hi, Sean, do you know how to do make 2 computers running same videos? I mean 1 one goes lives and de other one goes like backup...
@SeanBowes2 жыл бұрын
You basically want to duplicate the show file, and then send any commands to both machines. You could use a midi splitter, or a control surface with mutliple outputs like a lighting desk to send commands to both machines simultaneously with one device. Or use OSC to transmit everything that happens on MAIN to the Backup. MITH.xyz has a great video on that. Then you can either use 2 midi controllers or hot swap to the backup if needed.

Where do I find new color palettes to install in resolume?
@SeanBowes2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if there’s a place to get pre-made ones. But you can create your own by making a color and dragging the tile down into the pallets. Or by right clicking a color in the palette and selecting replace with current color. If you’re looking for inspiration a place like color.Adobe.com has good palettes you could sample from

I have an Alienware Area51M that I bought at the end of 2019. 9900K, 2080. Sager, MSI, and ASUS are also solid options. I have a video about choosing a computer on the channel if you haven’t checked it out yet
