Resolution or Performance Mode? HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST PS5 | 4K HDR

Comparison between RESOLUTION MODE (higher quality graphics with 30 FPS frame rate) and PERFORMANCE MODE (60 FPS frame rate with slightly reduced quality visuals). I prefer the smoothness of performance mode, the reduction in textures is almost unnoticeable.

Bad is an exaggeration in performance mode.

I'm currently playing in performance mode, I have the impression that the resolution mode is running at 25 fps

It’s not, its a locked 30 fps

Turn off motion blur, the difference is night and day when its off

The foliage is the main thing that does not look as good as the resolution mode.

it's a lot more than just the foliage. Every detail in the game looks a ton better on resolution

I like the game a lot, as I loved the first one… but it sounds like others are experiencing low-res blurry leaves / foliage in performance mode? I loaded up Ghost of Tsushima as a comparison, and it does not look nearly as blurry as Horizon Forbidden West. If you are seeing this same issue, are you by chance playing on an OLED? Thanks for the help!

@@BrianBP23 I play in perfotmace mode and trees,grass, foliage is like blury or shimmery. I heve read a comment on KZbin that TAA is broken or something. Im Playing on LG CX,OLED.

exactly. Performance mode doesn't look good. Only a fool would sacrifice that much detail just for 60 fps in a game that doesn't need 60 fps at all LOL

Obviously resolution mode. On performance mode the game looks unpolished. Plus Horizon isn't the type of game that needs 60 fps at all costs. On resolution mode, it's possible the best looking game ever made. It even beats Demon's Souls in many ways. On performance mode though it really fails to deliver the insane level of detail that makes the game so special.

Yup,most of us beat the first game in 30fps But the 60fps combat in forbidden west really hit different.

You just cant compare Demon's Soul graphic to that masterpiece. Demon's Soul has last gen graphic.

Normally I always use performance on my PS5 but Horizon looks just terrible in performance, everything is washed out, so I went with resolution.

@@maxandhetty I started in performance mode but have switched to resolution. I got used to it after one hour of playing (on PS4 everything was 30 fps😅) I also used black frame insertion at minimum to smooth out the image and set the brightness 1 higher becouse the image got a little bit darker from black frame insertion. The washed-out image looked like a 1080p image on my TV, even nearby objects looked washed-out.
