Sir but how we can think of great approach that you used @13:03 i mean how we can think that c must be independent of r that follows how to think that when to take right assumption as time is limited due to which any wrong assumption if taken and if not proved consumes so much time resulting in a time waste

@@PHYSICSSIRJEE ok well i didnt notice that anyway. Take another example where we take assumptions of friction to be zero and then we prove it somehow or our assumptions goes wrong bcz in many situation shape of object is irrelevant due to which calculation of forces become difficult so we take assumption first there and then we solve for proving it . so sir please tell me a way {approach} to think about what to take as assumption before solving such kind of questions since resulting in a failure causes a time waste sometimes much much time waste

While considering angular velocity gradient (r+dr)(w+dw), where does the term (w*dr) gone as it can not be neglected.
@PHYSICSSIRJEE
@PHYSICSSIRJEE 3 жыл бұрын
It's not a simple substraction . We compared this situation with the case of uniform w. So extra term which is the difference between two cases of uniform and non-uniform w in the figures is r dw only at 6:50 . Please follow the explanation along with the voice instead of just watching the slide. It will be clear 🙂👍🏼

Damn I remember a very similar question in a FIITJEE AITS paper
@ashishsarkar6990
@ashishsarkar6990 3 жыл бұрын
Sir I have a doubt...here in the question it was mentioned the flow to be laminar and fluid is viscous,so if the fluid is viscous it means that along the velocity profile each pt the magnitude of velocity vector changes along any line drawn from the centre to the periphery and that is mainly becoz there is a relative velocity, but sir the relative velocity here comes as there is a change in angular velocity of the fluid...sir is the fluid asked here in this case irrotational? and if so considering it to be irrotational then each pt along the velocity profile of the fluid there must be an increment in velocity due to angular velocity gradient,then how come the flow being considered is steady? Sir please answer 🙏

Sir , i have a doubt in this problem , why exactly do we take torque while integrating , why cant we take F=... and integrate and solve ; because the ans comes out to be different than when we take torque . please help Edit : Sir , i think i got it , is it because at steady state condition we can balance torque and they will come out to be equal but we cant balance forces on the cylinder to make omega constant . Pls clarify if my reasoning is correct thank you

Sir is laminar flow means steady state?
@PHYSICSSIRJEE
@PHYSICSSIRJEE 3 жыл бұрын
No , laminar means no intermixing of layers . Steady flow means no change speed with time . There could be viscous flows ( spreading of oil on floor and stopping ) which are laminar and unsteady

sir, what about w*dr term at 10:43 timestamp. Isn't it missing? Kindly explain.
@PHYSICSSIRJEE
@PHYSICSSIRJEE 3 жыл бұрын
It's not a simple substraction . Compare the picture with the case above in the slide . wdr exists in uniform w case also . In the non-uniform w case the r dw term is the only one responsible for causing viscous force. Please listen to the entire explanation in the slide with voice , instead of just looking at the case-2 . You will understand the concept 🙂
