Half sword’s new playtest has much better sword-fighting, it’s easily my favourite combat on this list. Just fun as hell.

As goofy as it is, half sword in terms of realism stomps all the other games shown. The only thing that breaks the immersion is when a body falls and you struggle to aim to hit it. Hopefully they manage to fix that in the future as well as some stabbing. Game has so much potential

@@ballzsack1640 the only thing that helps a bit with the poor accuracy of swings is upping the lock on strength in settings but it doesn’t make a staggering difference and too much can be jarring, still nice to experiment with.

Indeed, the HalfSword playtest build is brilliant. Honestly it's the closest thing to the Buhurt sport. The developers improved the swings and balance so much more compared to the demo.

Mordahu remains the funniest fucking game ever made xD. The fact that within seconds of entering a Mordahu server he finds 3 random dudes role-playing as workers and a nome running around.

I agree, I think the best thing about Mordhau is the emote sytem and the voice acting, you can pratically convey allmost anything with the emote without typing and have full on funny conversations. I honestly havent laughed that hard playing any other game in the last 8-10 years

@@SoundTrackJbannerlord has better battles and that’s all I rally care about in mount and blade anyway. Bannerlord is way better the battles suck in warband imo.

As a hema fencer, warband is the only game with a combat system that somewhat resonates with irl fencing actions. I wish it was more moddable, so that i could make it more realistic myself.

Once you get used to the physics and learn to gain control over your character in Half Sword the combat gets GOOD, the playtest is especially realistic in how your character wields/swings weapons and how people react to injuries.

The Half Sword Playtest revamped the combat and it's less of a floppy mess now. If they keep tightening it up, I think it will be the best medieval combat one can expect with a mouse and keyboard. Perhaps even better than VR, due to VR's lack of feedback.

1:40 in the new playtest the game is the most realistic sword fighting game ive ever played and i actually do that irl , blocking is not impossible and actually works extremely well with the buckler and punch shield

I miss Mordhau. It's a great game when you're fairly new but once you start getting better you realise that winning at higher levels of play is just who can out-jank the other player. I keep going back to Chivalry 2 due to it being more of an endurance fight rather than who can break the animations more to win.

Chivalry 2 is good first 50 hours (which is a good number to get out of a relatively cheap game) but after that you realise that game is a constant alpha test hell and is extremely buggy, the hitboxes are ludicrous, it's plagued by subtle speed hackers that are also a big part of an online community and will tell you it's skill isues while they pick knight and run from the spawn faster in a straight line than you run with vanguard and hit faster after being blocked after their second swing than opponents first swing even when opponent accelerates, blocking from behind the head 720 spinning and hitting 5 people through block. Kicking players from server is basically never happening which is a double edged sword because it cannot be abused but also you can get team killed by some loser whole game without repercussions. The animations are catastrophic and ghost hits that somehow get through your block are a constant. I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy tbh.

Half Sword playtest is actualy reallly good comapre top the old version you played here. Blood will come back but the actual version is really interesting and more realistic and skilled.

If you like sword fighting i would recommend you look into a sport called Buhurt thats basically what the game half sword is , we do this for real in the usa , not larping , we do real fights more similar to MMA or boxing Ive got videos up of some of our fights in the carolina region

Its funny because despite the goofiness that occurs Halfsword is literally rhe most realistic sword fighting game ever made. Blocking is not impossible in Halfsword you just have an incorrect idea on how actual fights with weapons go. Mordhau and Chivalry 2 are not realistic even in the slightest. Real fights are very fast and completely unpredictable. I don't know if you have played the newest test demo from Halfsword, but you should probably play it first before trying to fully critique it. Also watch some armored combat duels, or even some HEMA tournament duels to more fully comprehend just have insane real fighting is. Do some research first man.
