Digging that rusty one. Great sound. Very focused.

I've always been a fan of the wood body resonators and these 2 miniolians are killer! I personally think they sound the best and they're beautiful to look at. Republic just got a batch of both of these wood miniolians into inventory and I'm gonna make one of them mine!! Thanks for the great video. It sure helped make my mind up although I didn't need much help. Thanks again.

That brass parlor guitar is astounding sounding. I wonder if they all have that tone to them? It's making me really want one. This was a great demo of the Republic Resonators. Thank You

Thanks for this demo. Someone nearby is selling the shiny silver one, with the triple fret marker, with a pickup added. Yours sustains the buzz like a sitar. The sitar sound is cool. The brass finished parlor sounded more "Hawaiian" and country than as swampy as the others, to me. I also liked the bright wooden parlor. They're all nice in their own ways. The dark wooden parlor was almost banjo-y. I really like that silver sitar. Man

Thanks for posting!! I recently discovered resonators and have spent a couple weeks doing research, I decided Republic was the best option for my price range. I ordered their brass parlor guitar after seeing this video, it’s got great tone.

Such great instruments! I have a republic tricone and it’s on par with some of the nationals I’ve played! You should totally check out the tricones if you haven’t already. I find that they sound “prettier” than the single cones. Keep up the great videos!

Haha, the ones I liked the most are your personal ones. I like the shiny one the best, nice and bright. The gold had a nice soft amd delicate tone with more reverb.

Your video is very helpful. There are no republic dealers anywhere near me, where I live in the United States. I had to take a chance and I just ordered my first one offline. I'm excited to get to play a resonator for the first time

A very nice review. I just bought a Bright Nickel Parlor Rocket--Republic did a very refined setup for me, with "10's". My hands are very old and beaten up, so I know I will like the short scale. I saved this and will report back. The people at Republic are special and I was able to spend a long time on the phone with their setup man. Since I build acoustics and some LP style electrics, and I do repairs and very precise setups myself, we communicated well.

Indeed , The Republics own their niche of falling between the typical Asian Imports with haphazard quality control and poor to zero setup , and the full on hand built . BUT string sets marked as " Resonator " by John Pearce and everyone else are intended for Lap Style playing with a Tone Bar, in the ubiquitous dobro tuning of GBDGBD . They are not intended for round neck instruments , or even occasional fretted playing . On their website , Republic specifies their recomended string gages , of 12's .
@joecontreras50683 жыл бұрын
They are made in China and they are haphazard quality- they shouldn’t charge a thousand and up for a $ 300 resonator from China
@filianablanxart83053 жыл бұрын
Republic's position is they treat the product as it comes from China simply as raw materials , and then do substantial work to them in Texas to bring up to their standards . Do they actually ? I dunno , I haven't been there to look .
@BuddaGuedes3 жыл бұрын
They don’t feel nor sound cheap. It’s not just because they are made in China they should be cheap. My MacBook and iPhone are both made in China...

@@filianablanxart8305 you better take a better look - there’s not much substantial work you can do to something that has absolutely no fine adjustments- all you have is a bridge on a biscuit and a nut - lets see you fine tune that
