He's the sweetest guy. As Louis said "Zayn wears his heart on his sleeves" that was the perfect discription. He's the nicest person and he's been wronged soo many times by everyone. Every time I look at him, I feel pain for him and then proud of him coz through everything, he still came out stronger and he's smashing it in his solo career and saying his truth. If i ever meet him, i just want to tell him how proud I am of him and how I am soo damn glad he simply exists in this world. Also, the 9/11 shit was huge and recent one. We had to trend it for spotify to get it off, they should've just taken it down immediately but it took a long time. But the fans are still here for him and always will be and we will always stand in front of him to protect him. He deserves the best. And nothing less

Also, after he left the band in their first award show Liam also thanked Zayn, it wasn't like they completely forgeted about him. They even said that we're not One Direction without him, we're just Liam, Louis, Niall and Harry.

Before I became a 1D fan during quarantine. I thought Zayn was arrogant because how the media portrayed him when he left the band. But when I started watching 1D X factor videos and interviews I realized that people seemed him that way because he is an introvert and I personally know having a lot of people around can really make you anxious . He is a very talented beautiful human with a heart of gold. Now Zayn, Liam and Louis are my favorites 🥰

All 5, now men, handsome, and super talented in their own way. Liam a great dancer, song co writer and singing range. Zayne mesmorizing beauty, singing range, intelligence, and deep thinking introvert. As as INTJ I can relate. I can understand why he gets away from it all. Louis' distinctive beautiful voice, blue eyes, song writing and love for his fans. I do wish he would quit smoking though. Harry, now imperfectly perfect, singer, dance like no one's watching, green eyes, marketer, song writer, actor and memory all amazing! He takes good care of himself. Niall's musical instrument capabilities, slow hand song writing, new found charisma and singing are on point! I really truly like all 5 members of this band. My belief is they were the best boy band ever.

Zayn leaving the band was the best thing that could've happened for all of them. I even think that it gave the others the courage to ask for a break. Of course they were sad and hurt but they always respected his decision, even to this day. Maybe it could've been done better but that's just how it happened. Also we know nothing about what was going on behind the scenes so we have no right to judge any on them.

1:07 now this is a bit dramatic. The boys weren’t laughing at Zayn, they were trying to lighten the mood because clearly that guy was trying to corner Zayn and accuse him of something serious. Louis even shouted “water” gun a few seconds earlier and helped Zayn make the moment less tense. They were laughing at THAT. And at the fact that Zayn had it in a private area cause duh they’re like children. Zayn was uncomfortable because of THAT guy asking and interrogating him about it. Not uncomfortable because of the boys.

Zayn did not leave the band immediately or unexpectedly....it has been confirmed that he had gotten away quite a few times over the years but came back everytime...everyone knew that he didn't wanna be there...he also said in an interview that harsh words were said to him by the boys when he left although he tried to maintain his relationship with everyone...no one replied to him when he tried to contact them except Liam..

I find it annoying how everyone talked shit about Zayn when he talked about his struggles in the band and that he couldn't go on but when Liam talked about the shit that they went through everyone was like aww poor liam like thats so unfair. Zayn still struggles with anxiety after he left the band and he didn't perform live for 5 years now so why is harry acting like him leaving in the middle of the tour is bad? Zayn after he left the band canceled a lot of solo performances because he had anxiety attacks. In 2016 iheart radio he threw up backstage and had anxiety attacks because he couldn't perform so how did they expect him to still do the tour with them? Zayn himself said that it wasn't a sudden decision that he wanted to leave and that the members knew so why is Harry acting like that?Even as a fan i noticed that there is something wrong with Zayn at the last years so i don't understand how the other members didn't know. Zayn rarely do any interviews or tv appearances after he left the band so i really don't like how they painted him as selfish and bad in the media when he really in reality is strugglin with a lot. He was the only member who is person of color in the group so he got a lot of racism and is still getting a lot of racism and hate from the Uk media and people after he left the band. As a muslim i feel annoyed and sad because of the way he was treated and until this day the media still treats this man like trash. Nobody has the right to say he was selfish to leave because nobody was in his shoes and nobody knows how he was treated.

Random but: Harry and Zayn apparently had a fallout during their last days together. Harry drank a lot that night after they fought with a guy (named Joe Cummings I think) in Bangkok. No one knows what the argument was about (I mean I assume it was about Zayn leaving the band?) but since then they have just refused to take each other’s names (you will find clips of Zayn talking about the other 3 but never Harry). Every time Harry was asked about Zayn leaving, he would always make a joke about it. I think they were both hurt, but no one really knows what exactly happened. (There are also rumors about them having a 2 a.m. phone call where Zayn told Harry he’s leaving and they cried together). But why would go into heavy drinking mode after a fight with someone you weren’t close to?

I didn't remember that at the time the drug video was that dramatic because I'm from Perú, and it happened here, so we always remember it as a funny anecdote for Peruvian directioners (it was all over newspapers and it appeared on tv, it's still hilarious, you probably wouldn't react to the video, but it's on KZbin and you can watch it. I honestly don't see anything wrong with it). As for the rest of the video, Zayn had a horrible time in 1D, but he also enjoyed it. It wasn't all bad at first, but who could ever do all of it without needing years of therapy afterwards? They were literally exploited, they were children and they were manipulated and gaslighted SO badly. Specially Zayn as the only one who wasn't white in the group, he needed to get out and I'm so grateful that he could do it. I'm grateful that he's still here and we can enjoy his music.

For me I feel that Zayn and Niall were the most genuine in 1D , Zayn had and still has anxiety issues that I can relate to, it can be crippling on a day to day basis let alone in a world famous band with all the additional control and pressures added to that. Scapegoats as the bad guy, and grossly misunderstood. I applaud Zayn walking away from the toxic atmosphere that was making his issue's even worse, I commend him for putting his mental and physical health above the big bucks. Life is hard sometimes and you got to be strong and make hard decisions for yourself. Always a Zayn fan , love his solo music, listen everyday. By far the best vocalist in 1D.

honestly harry should've defended zayn when howard stern was shaming him and calling him unprofessional for leaving the band, because harry was literally there and could see first hand how zayn was struggling immensely with his eating disorder and severe anxiety and racism and literally could not go on doing it, yet harry just went along with what howard was saying. it's kind of disappointing he just stayed quiet and only replied "you said it" in a way that implies that he agrees but he won't directly say it himself :(

This. Calling someone unprofessional for saying 'no' or putting mental health first can be career killing let alone someone who is seen as 'other'. Even jokes (because one is uncomfortable or hurt or trying to lighten the mood) are misconstrued by media but also those 'jokes' reinforce racist stereotypes in the general public, Harry was on the up during that interview - his power in industry was growing, he was already well loved by all because those stereotypes do not apply to him, the womaniser monkier has actually accelerated his career not diminished it. Him allowing the narrative against zayn knowing the media is against zayn and in contrast the media is all for him- even applauding his drug use (mushrooms) and sex talk in music (watermelon sugar) whereas zayn is written as druggie and reviewed in music magazines/ media as singing too much about sex. I'm trying to be more positive towards Harry cos he's a person not just a celebrity and the only way I can to come to terms is that he just doesn't see the vast amount of privilege he has. That interview was so disappointing because it was yet another stab at low hanging fruit -zayn, when it could have been a balm, it could have been a great way to use power and privilege to bring people up and not help tear them down.

I don't know where you live, but the British press villainise all of them, we have a newspaper called the sun(most decent people ban the Sun) they never print good positive things about 1D/solo boys, and I can assure you Liam comes off the worst, then Louis, that is because they have both spoken out about them. Harry is only ever shown when he does a photo in a dress, because Zayn doesn't live in England now and doesn't tour or do live shows they don't really care about him, Niall is the only one they tend to leave alone, I think they should all do an Harry on it and completely ignore them, at the end of the day nobody fully knows what goes on in bands, you only know from rumours and hearsay.

This video was a bit dramatic about the other boys' reactions. When that guy asked about the water gun tattoo, Louis showed that he was angry at the interviewer and that they didn't like that (that guy recently talked shit about Zayn again but he is known for being racist and Islamophobic) Whenever Zayn's leaving was brought up, Harry tried to change the subject or make a joke out of it to lighten the mood cause he wasn't comfortable talking about it. Again, we don't know what happened behind the scenes but the boys always respected him.

2:41 Now why is whoever made the video blaming Louis for this one? Zayn and Louis filmed themselves smoking, ok, the blame is half half. But here they’re asking where Zayn was cause he didn’t show up for this interview (although he still hadn’t left by that point). The interviewer is the one throwing accusations and making theories as to why Zayn didn’t go to this interview. Asking if it had something to do with the video of them smoking and insinuating that Zayn was doing drugs. The creator of the video made it seem like Louis threw the blame on Zayn when he didn’t even utter a word when the question was asked, given that Liam took the lead answering this one. And I’m sure if asked he’d blame himself first because Louis isn’t the type of person who’d throw their friend under the bus. Jesus… respect for Zayn and all that but they’re being too dramatic throwing accusations left and right making the others look bad.

I’m sure if Louis went missing this soon after the video got out they’d question him as well. They didn’t go easy on Louis either, the media always started stories about him smoking and being a party boy and all that. I know it wasn’t as bad as Zayn but I don’t understand why the creator of the video had to involve Louis in this. I’d also get as defensive as the original commenter for involving Louis in something like that, as if blaming him for Zayn’s label as a “druggie”.

@@arianf3301 I’m not, like, against what you’re saying. What the media does to Zayn and says about him is awful, and he definitely does get more unnecessary hate because of his race/ethnicity. But the media is like that all the time, assuming the worst and accusing them just to make headlines. I just don’t understand why the creator of the video had to make it sound like Louis is the one at fault for Zayn’s “druggie” label? Like instead of blaming that interviewer who insinuated that the reason Zayn was absent was because of that video, they push the blame on one of the boys, and in that case it’s Louis, although he didn’t utter a word about it.

okay so some insight to this video: you were wondering what's with the people throwing shoes at him. for (which he was at the time) Muslims, throwing a shoe at someone, that's highly disrespectful. when he was saying "they're quite quick to pull you back to earth" he meant his family, and Bradford as a community. i personally am only just getting into his music and stuff, and got to see the video you were watching a couple weeks ago for the first time. it got me so sad and upset that i cried. never ever did i have such an overwhelming feeling that i needed to contact someone, and say "sorry for what people have done, and are still doing to you" even though i never took part in it, and would never even dream of joining "those" people. cause he didn't deserve ANY of it! the (social) media and the so called "fans" made this boy to what he is today: a man who's struggling with mental health, anxiety. and who's struggling to get his messages across, cause "people" didn't allow him to express himself the way HE felt comfortable with. i love him, and everything he stands for, he'll always have my support. and i will do whatever i can to help him, even though it probably isn't all that much, but i'd like to think every little bit of support he can get, helps him grow, and maybe (hopefully!) one day he could overcome his anxiety and take back to the stage.

Overall that whole interview felt like howard was trying to fish smh out and make a headline out of what harry would say. Harry and Zayn being the two who are really private about their life in and after 1D compared to the other boys might make things confusing as well. Seeing that Harry was the one who asked for a hiatus in late 2014 when Zayn was getting worse and him lying about not knowing that he was not well in another interview should make people realize there's a lot more that they're not willing to share with the public. I wish people would understand that neither Z or H have any obligation to tell anyone, especially the f***media, details about their past. PS : also pretty ironic how they always try to pit one against the other in articles, but knowing how dirty the industry is, it isn't really surprising to me...

It's awful how they pit them against each other. It's two totally different people and musical approaches! One rnb and eclectic music artist/poet/vocalist songwriter The other pop rock star entertainer/actor/singer songwriter. I'm a stranger things (1st and 2nd season) fan and they were comparing those poor kids and pitting them against each other. The only person of colour/black person Caleb McLaughlin was ill treated by fans, adult and children fans. He was called racist slurs on the internet, his was an OG character in 1, 2 but by s3 he gets less good dialogue and meaningful scenes that showcase and stretch his actingabilities. Caleb liked an instagram posts during black lives matter movement about co-workers/ collagues not being there when needed the most, that it's telling who your friends are when taking a stand with you, Caleb is a chill non confrontational guy, the fact he liked that post means a lot.

That comment about Boston marathon bombing just made me sick!!!! He should be ashamed of himself. Cause something i similar happenedto me on 9/11 . I was 22/23 years old , just came back from my honeymoon in New Orleans and woke up to two skyscrapers falling down and thousands dying. I’m an immigrant. I was raised in Muslim/ Christian and orthodox family. I lived through 5 years of bloodshed, I’ve heard over 4000 projectiles explosions every day for 5 years. I am from the Olympic city, one of the oldest city , my home Sarajevo in Bosnia. We were under the siege, no food, no water, no heat, no power or telephone. Waiting to die every day. Sometimes prayed that my 2 besties and I make it to our high school in one piece, but if one go , than let us all go ( die) . We were together 24/7. We survived the hell . I’m crying as I’m writing this . We’ve been through a lot. Watched our family members die, lost many many great friends , school mates , and I still hear cries and shrieks of mothers after being told that her child died playing in front of their building. We walked through blood puddles 24 miles a day just to finish high school. We had hopes and dreams, but knew that there was 80% chance we wouldn’t make it. We dodged a bullets from snipers, and projectile explosions sometimes just 5 minutes after we walked through that section of the road or park . Others died. We will carry this survivors gilt as long as we live . All three of us suffer from debilitating ptsd , even though we didn’t think of dying next few steps, but making it . Anyways, I’m an immigrant since 1997 , and I was hated , and still am for not being born American . My husband is American and my daughter. We’ve been married for 23 years now. Back to 9/11 ,upon my return from our honeymoon I went to my work to pick up my check, with fellow immigrant my best boy friend here where I don’t have anyone else. We walked into our manager’ office , she looked at us and said “ look what your people did to us today “ 😮 we’re not from Middle East, we’re Europeans, had nothing to do with it . A lot of ppl from my country mostly journalists died that day , died in the country of free. Country that loves and excepts everyone. So we thought! So I cried for Zayn watching this video. I can hide my religions and my struggles and the fact that I’m not American. I have slight accent, but Zeyn can’t hide his color, his middle eastern heritage and automatic thought, oh he’s from Middle East, he’s a terrorist. I reported my manager to co of the restaurant chain, and he was embarrassed for her . Few minutes later she came to me to apologize saying “ oh I was just joking with you guys “ I told he that , that day was so tragic and there was no room for jokes, only grief and tears . I still stand with Americans, even tho many think of me as a nasty immigrant who should go back where I belong. Or asking me if so was illegal immigrant. I tell them that I didn’t swim across the Atlantic to be smuggled here. My family went through 5 interviews with American embassy, criminal cheeks , health exams. And we came here . Sometimes I think war was easier than looks some give me when they hear my accent. Are you a catalog bride ?? Wtf!!!! ???? I have no idea why would anyone ask that. Closed minds . I’m here to stay and I know being here because of my daughter and my husband I will forever be a foreigner, someone who many hate and blame for anything bad happens here. But let’s remember that school shootings, dozens of shootings were done by white Americans. I’m so sorry Zayn . I hope you read this one day and understand that you are not alone in your struggles. I love you, and who you are, and what you are will determine your love , generosity, love and your gun tattoo, skin color or your religion will not break you. I’m sorry this post was sooo long . Bless you if you made it through , and I think this issue should be resolved. Hopefully soon . And yes, I go to church, I’ve never been in Mosque. 3:38 Zayn had a fake PR relationship with Perrie when Little Mix first got started. That's pretty normal for the entertainment industry, two people will date to stir up buzz for projects that they have coming out like new albums, movies, or tv shows. It's why you see articles about movie costars dating each other and stuff like that, only for them to "break up" when promotional season is over/the movie is no longer in theaters and doesn't need anymore buzz. With Zayn and Perrie, most of the time when Little Mix had to promote something articles about Zayn and Perrie would come out, some of them cast Zayn is bad light by making him out to be a cheater. When Zayn and Perrie's contract ended, their break up, once again cast Zayn in bad light by making it seem like he broke her heart. when he broke off their engagement (an engagement that was orchestrated by their management on the day of the This Is Us premiere to stir up buzz about One Direction's movie). None of this is Perrie's fault of course. A contract is a contract and however it's all played out comes down to their management, the two of them just have to play whatever role they're given since their image as music artists are controlled by their management. But because of that a lot of people dislike Zayn because he "broke Perrie's heart" and they wrongly assume that the song Shout Out To My Ex was written about Zayn. Something that was done purposefully, again by management, to sell records and to get people to listen to the song. That's why that fan is shouting that while they sing Shout Out To My Ex even though the song isn't even about Zayn.

It really does upset me to see all this together in one video. It's disgusting. Plus the fact that the band members did nothing except laugh!! I'm a hijabi Muslim woman of colour, and it really upsets me to see this happening to anyone, and then the whole media being totally okay with it. All of them tried their best to defend each other, though sometimes you have to be careful with what you say because the media WILL find a way to use it against you. Paps in Europe have laws they have to follow. Paparazzi are now restricted from Harry Styles in England in certain situations like 50 meters from his home etc. He had to submit a complaint in order for them to become effective. America's 1st amendment: Freedom of religion, speech and press causes the paparazzi to be more aggresive in the United States and why there are no laws similar to European laws.

i think it's important to comment about the clips out of context that were put of Harry "making fun" of zayn leaving the band what happens is that it's an extreme uncomfortable subject to be talked about in interviews, so he was always trying to cut the tension, but always answered very seriously and respectfuly right afterwards the jokes, making it clear that it was an important subject, ir was just uncomfortable

Americans, especially are very quick to pass judgement on foreigners and make them feel less than shit itself. I lived and schooled in NY from grade to high school and I remember the awful bullying I experienced. Luckily, am stubborn stubborn and get real mean right back so they steered clear from me after 8th grade. Having said that, he didn't leave 1d cos of rude, nasty people who hate middle Easterners. He left cos he bought into the hype that he's the main attraction (vocally) and should dump the band fast to make a solo breakthrough. Plus, all the boys were writing songs and his songs just didn't fit for 1d and weren't accepted. Everyone else's songs were. Very frustrating indeed. My issue with him is in the manner that he chose to leave: loud, loud, loud.....insulting anyone and everyone AND the music of 1d....calling it "generic fuck!" Ed Sheeran is yet to forgive him for that as he wrote some of the most beloved songs for 1d. There's a whole lot more to say but ....this is enough. Yep, Zayn the ingrate. He is dead to me. I make zero apologies.
