Jordan Peterson is the father I never had and the mentor I never knew I needed. I went from suicidal drug addict of 20 years to making my bed and getting my shit together in one year thanks to him inspiring hope in me. I’ve just celebrated 1 year of sobriety and now I’m studying to become a counsellor and volunteering in my community. I owe JP such a huge debt of gratitude for kicking me up the arse. Philip Thompson I suppose it’s because universities increasingly spew out academics who think the exact same way. It’s difficult for original thinkers who are also making counter-arguments for ingrained cultural ideas to be accepted never mind embraced. I certainly think academia used to be much less stiflingly but that’s not the case anymore as a norm.
