I love how Velvette finishes off her barrage with a triple rhyming scheme in one sentence "thanks to me being respectless, one thing I'm starting to suspect is, you know why this angel's headless." It shows that she is fully dominating this lyrical battle and is laying into Carmilla with a devastating finishing move.

The really amazing part about Velvette is that she improvised that. She came to the meeting with the intent to antagonize Zestiel. You can see it in the surprised reaction of, "What's this b***h doing?" when Carmilla interrupts followed up by her annoyed face of resignation when Zestiel whom she sees as an old and unchanging fossil, probably because he speaks in old English, responds to her second attempt in her own pitch and cadence while at the same time hinting at the hidden meaning she invoked when she said, "I'm the backbone of the Vs." All of the messages behind her say 'notification,' they're all information and some of them are intelligence. She then realises instantly that responding to that would just lead to her loss so, instead, she goes to antagonize Carmilla who enthusiastically jumped on the bait that she laid out for Zestiel. Something I guess also surprises Zestiel since Vox and Valentino with 100% chance would have engaged in that losing battle. Nevermind being the backbone of the Vs, there would be no Vs without her and none of the other two losers seem to fully realise her value. I think the only one who does is Zestiel since in the next scene with just him and Carmilla he never asks her if it's true that she killed the angel, he already knows the answer to that, he asks her how come she was so easily goaded. Due to her inexperience, Velvette wields her intelligence like a cudgel while Zestiel wields it like a scalpel. Imagine if he became the mentor of Velvette.

The actress that voices Velvette is Lilli Cooper, She also portrayed Sandy Cheeks in the Spongebob Broadway theatre musical but that's off topic.

This whole song and dance was actually a brazen power-play by the Vees. They're the new game in town, but they know that the established overlords could still crush them if they so pleased. When they found the angels head, they saw an opportunity to both weaken the overlords and claim responsibility for ending what is one of the most terrible hazards of literal hell: the heavenly host descending to slaughter the damned souls to keep their numbers down and avoid an uprising. The Vees don't actually KNOW what killed the angel. What she was doing here was both fishing for information (it stands to reason that the culprit for the killing of a previously thought invincible enemy would have to be one of the strongest powers, i. e. one of the overlords) by confronting the assembled power players with the head AND trying to rile the overlords up so they'd do the heavy lifting for the actual fight. With any luck one or more of them would die or lose enough men and power to become vulnerable while the Vees sit back, enjoy the show and solidify their own position in the aftermath. Even if it failed and the death of that angel was a fluke, so long as they could successfully get the other overlords to streck their neck out in the battle, they might still take losses or even die, taking some of their rivals off the board. They'd probably use their social media clout to blame the failure on one or more of the remaining overlords. It's a risky move because the only reason she's not a smear on the wall after that song is because the other overlords are respecting the implied truce of the meeting.

So many of the voices in Hazbin Hotel have experience on Broadway. That's one reason why the sones are so good. The voice of Carmilla Carmine (the one running the meeting) was the original Mimi in Rent. And she was also the main hair dresser lady in the movie for In the Heights.

There's currently 4 episodes out for Hazbin Hotel, with 2 more coming out on the 25th and the last two for season 1 on February 1st. I think you would like the song "Stayed Gone" if you liked the conversation feel of "Respectless"

this song is so good! One of my favorites of the show. "Looser", "poison" and "hell is forever" are soooo sooo good as well. You should definetly check out the episodes or you get spoiled so much. These songs are not useless Disney songs but drive the story forward and define and develope the characters. They are really great and catchy on top of that :)

Hell is forever really needs more love since it's a real banger. So far there's only two or three songs I wouldn't listen to consistently and they're not bad by any means just not as catchy as 80% of the songs.

I hugely recommend Hazbin Hotel as a show! Knowing the storyline will only make you love these songs even more. There's so much creativity, & they really have incredible song writers/producers for both this & it's sister show, Helluva Boss (which I also love & recommend).

OOH, hope you’re gonna watch some more Hazbin songs. They’re really fire, “Stayed Gone” and “Loser Baby” are great ones as well, “Hell is Forever” is cool too, but that was the first song of the new episodes, so I kind of forgot about it a bit when all the other great songs dropped-

Definitely a must watch! People already explained the episode numbers and their air times, but on top of that I want to mention that for reaction purposes, this is a musical. So there are and will be many songs accompanying each episode. Also!! The pilot and (I believe) the first episode can be reacted to without editing/cutting down because they're free on youtube. I cannot say the same for the rest of the official series as it is on Prime Video and I have seen other reactors cut around episodes 2-4 (only ones out for now). Can't wait for a reaction! Heavy topics in the plot, but that's what makes it an adult-oriented animated series.

Hi there as I am new to your channel, and being a fan of Vivian’s work of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva boss. As I got to say that you going to be having a great time in watching the Hazbin Hotel series. It’s pure entertainment and gold with famous broadway singers into a hellish show. 😄 I highly recommend you watch the pilot episode, Addict music video and than straight into the show. As both Pilot and Addict music video explains the concept on what the show might bring to the table for your first time in the Hazbin Community. So best of luck on posting reactions of the show as they drop by weekly on Fridays but they might take a mini break till I believe March to resume the show after next week or so. Since animation take a long time to make and production might be tight around VA taking their break on voicing and animation programs tend to glitch before airing. So just heads up for you.
