Barca mainly played the false 9 with Messi in the 2010-2011 season when they destroyed Man U in the Champions League final with it. 08-09 was Guardiola's first season at Barca, and while Messi did play that role on occasion, he was mostly at RW in a free role, with Eto'o at striker and Thierry Henry on the other wing

Just played 2 games in FUT with this setup. It’s good but the game mode is too different from normal seasons to play nice football. I mean, if you face an opponent who is not as good football wise but has a meta team and uses the meta high speed fast long balls on the counter then you have a big chance of conceding the typical monkey goals.. I would suggest a 4231 narrow on ultimate team, both the CDM’s on stay back and cover center. Like that you can use the fullbacks to stretch the play and the overlap run when needed. Keep the custom tactics tough, it works nice for short pin point passing with some nice triangles 👌🏽

Make the easiest pass, scan for the safest and easiest pass you it will be more hard for the opponent to intercept the ball, you can also make long passes and risky passes but 90-85% of your passes should be to your easiest one, hope that helps!

It is impossible on Fifa, especially these recent Fifas, on older FIFAs like FIFA 15-18, it was possible. But now, not anymore... The game is scripted..once you hold possession for long, the game INTENTIONALLY misplaces your pass and makes you lose possession. Also, the player are too rigid or there are no instructions that makes players move freely like on older fifas where you can set the buildup phase to be free roaming or stick to position. Also, the false 9, isn't as free as it should, it always stay central. False 9 should have a free roam option.
