so lets say that your fish/diamond is starting to fall on its side to the right, does this mean increase peep levels? to turn it rightside up? Since it is decreasing compliance?

Hey great video. Just a question what do I when a pt has a high RR on a ventilator and it starts alarming. What are some things I can do to ease the pt RR and possibly bring it back to normal?
@RespiratoryCoach3 жыл бұрын
Figure out what the cause of tachypnea is. Might be flow hungry, so switching to a square flow pattern or increasing flow might help, or they might be volume hungry and increasing the tidal volume may satisfy them. If in PSV, increase PS. It may not be something you can fix with the vent, ie pain, anxiety.

what does a flattened top of the loop means?(at the beginning of expiration?)

Could you do a video on how to actually perform a pressure volume loop correctly on a ventilated patient? i know it s not that easy depending on the machine
@RespiratoryCoach3 жыл бұрын
Hello! There is no technique to performing a pressure volume loop. Most ventilators draw the P-V loop with each breath. The challenge comes in recognizing a valid loop with the absence of patient interference. Thoughts?
@gabmor77793 жыл бұрын
@@RespiratoryCoach We have the bennetts at work, and that machine doesnt have a pv loop diagnosis tool so we have to do it on our own. From what i read to do a pv loop properly u have to switch to volume control with constant flow and most importantly keep the flow very low. Maximum 10l/min , better even less. But still then, many times the loop wont be usefull as it is impossible to make out an lower inflection point
