There were never any sects in islam. The Quran strictly prohibited against making sects but it was a fitna us muslims were going to face towards the end times. That being said. Sunnis only exist because people started calling themselves different titles. So we say we are sunni to emphasise that we follow the Quran and the Prophet and nobody else. I dont even call myself sunni because as a muslim we dont have to. Its only to distinguish between us muslims and the misguided ones. I hope that clears it up for you. Even if you look at the percentage of muslims. Vast majority of muslims more than 93% percent are orthodox muslims aka sunnis. These random sects have no leg to stand on

If you are muslim, the wives of the Prophet Muhammad SAW are the mother of the believers. Anyone who curses the mother of the believers can never be a believer because no one curses their own mother. They call themself Shia aka followers of Imam Ali RA, but they don’t even truly follow Imam Ali RA because even after battle of camels Imam Ali RA was respectful to Bibi Ayesha RA. The falseness of their claim with which they have filled the world, namely the dialogue of civilizations that is based on respect for others and not transgressing against them. What kind of dialogue do they want?! What respect do they claim to show? They want us to respect them and honour them, and even to bow and prostrate to them, but all they do is make fun of us and mock us and wrong us even more. 4. A clear message was sent to them: that we Muslims will never accept to see our religion insulted or humiliated, or any transgression against our Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). In the Quran, Allah Almighty - praised the Companions as an Ummah justly balanced (al-Baqara, 2/143), - stated that they answered the call of Allah and the Messenger and had a great reward (Aal-i Imran, 3/172), - stated that He was well-pleased with them, as were they with Him and that He prepared for them gardens where they would stay eternally (at -Tawba, 9/100), - stated that they were loyal believers that helped Allah and His Messenger (al-Hashr, 59/8), - stated that they preferred others to their own souls though they were in need (al-Hashr, 59/9), - stated that they would be forgiven as real believers and that they would be given sustenance generously in the hereafter (al-Anfal, 8/74) May Allah bless ALL the Sahabas.

During the time of the Prophet PBUH it’s been said there were poets and orators highly skilled in eloquence and comedy and persuasion. A real Muslim gets his knowledge from the Holy Quran and tries to follow the sunnah from the authenticated hadiths.
