My biggest challenge is asking for help. When you never been on a team or in an office setting (Tractor-Trailer driver by day student by night)it’s really hard to get over the team of me mindset while in programming it’s more about teamwork because no one person has all the answers. Here's how I described them to a judge. Basically, think about a phone app like Rosetta Stone. You're trying to learn French. All of that data isn't going to exist on your phone, so that's where the api comes in. The app on your phone makes a request to an api that fetches data from a big database somewhere.

Majored in IT yet never had a really good intuitive understanding of how to create APIs. Not much courses did this though either but...I learned in Java for JSPs. Anyway, granted this was in python and used flask (which I haven't used before) I can clearly understand the basics of creating a Rest API now!
